Well, we did it again. We entered our Ambrosia Traditional Sweet Mead and our Magnum Opus 10 year old Elderberry Port wine into the the very prestigious American Wine Society competition and wouldn't you know, the mead took a gold medal and the port took a silver. This is the fourth gold medal for Ambrosia, which has never taken less than gold and the first medal for the Magnum Opus.

MARKET DAY!!! Today will be our last day at the Lakewood Farmers Market this year! We are introducing our new wine, Magnum Opus, today. It is an Elderberry port-style fortified wine, aged 5 years! We will only be offering this wine in person at events and our winery. We will only have a handful of bottles available at the market today so come do a tasting of it and get a bottle to take home! We will be there until 7pm today.

Operation Plum Juice is under way. Picked up a couple hundred pounds of Damson Plums from a friend a few days ago. Soon it will be about 20 gallons of juice and ready to be made into a batch of Plum Crazy. It feels good to have the ole juicer goin' again.

The average worker bee makes only about 1/12 teaspoon of honey in its lifetime. To make a pound of honey it takes 556 bees visiting over two million flowers. We just made a batch of our award winning Ambrosia Sack Mead, which takes about 130 #'s of honey. We are tiny compared to a lot of commercial mead makers, but we do make some of the best mead in the world. Current stock is running low, but this batch will be ready in a few months. Last Friday was the official release of our The S'mores the Merrier at the Lakewood Farmers Market. Our most successful market day ever. National Mead Day is coming up this Saturday, August 1st. In celebration The S'mores the Merrier will be 5% off at the Farmers Market along with all of our other meads. We look forward to seeing you there.

Today was our first day at the Lakewood Farmers Market. This new location is awesome. We did twice the sales as our best day at the old location. If this is our new standard we could possibly run out of mead by the end of the season. Guess we better get busy making more.
