The raspberries are just starting to ripen up again! We’ll have some half-pints available at tomorrow’s farmers market in Lambertville, along with some plum jam, wild plums, squash blossoms, floral bouquets, Concord grapes, and other late-summer treats. Get there early if you want raspberries. We sell out right away. 9:00am until noon, behind the Lambertville Free Public Library.

The pollinators are hard at work on our squash plants! If you enjoy cooking squash blossoms, we’ll have some at the Lambertville Farmers Market today. It’s 9:00-12:00 behind the Lambertville Free Public Library. We’ll have garlic, fresh herbs, a plenty of other summer delights, too!

We’re keeping a watchful eye on our hazelnut trees right now. The nuts aren’t quite ripe but that doesn’t seem to prevent the squirrels and birds from eating them. The sparrow on top of this tree probably won’t eat the nuts, but the blue jays are another story!

We’ve been planting these hazelnuts on the farm and, fingers crossed, will have a fair amount to harvest this year.

Tom and his colleagues at Rutgers are great, by the way.

Squanto is amazing at eating brambles. He’s particularly fond of multiflora rose.
