Howell Living History Farm See how farming was done in the 1900s by getting your hands in the dirt and meeting the farm animals.

Howell Farm is a time machine that takes visitors to the year 1900, when horse drawn buggies traveled the lanes of Pleasant Valley and when farms were bordered by snake fences and Osage orange trees. Each year, over 65,000 visitors experience their rural heritage through the living history programs offered at the farm. The Friends of Howell Living History Farm is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization which lends support and assistance to the Mercer County Park Commission in their operation of the farm. The Friends' support helps the farm grow its award-winning educational programs and preservation efforts, bringing the history of our region to life for school children, families and other members of our community. 🌕🎻 The Hunter’s Moon Barn Dance is back at Howell Farm! 💃🕺

The moon is rising, the barn is ready, and it’s time to dance! Join us at Howell Living History Farm on Friday, October 23, from 7–9 PM for an evening of traditional music, dancing, and old-fashioned fun.

The Jug Town String Band will fill the barn with lively music while Sue Depree calls the dance steps, making it easy for everyone to join in.

Enjoy free light refreshments throughout the evening, and historic costumes are encouraged but not required! For an extra bit of magic, take a moonlit horse-drawn carriage ride and experience the farm under the Hunter’s Moon. 🌕🐴

Whether you’ve joined us for a barn dance before or it’s been a while, we’d love to have you back! Bring your friends and family, put on your dancing shoes, and come enjoy an evening of music, laughter, and community at Howell Farm.

Are you ready for a spectacular corn maze?
The corn maze is open RIGHT NOW for its first moonlight maze 5-8pm last exit 9pm. It will also be open Saturday and Sunday October 3rd and 4th as well. And for specific times and future dates please check out our website for the full list:

New Jersey's longest running corn maze is always looking for volunteers for next year if you want to be a part of the magic.

Wheat Planting, Wheat Weaving, & Baking this Saturday 10-4pm

Unfortunately we did not have a wheat crop this year so Threshing will not be a part of the program this Saturday but there's always plenty to do and explore on Howell Farm

Hey EWE! Change of plans due to inclement weather.

🌽The Corn Maze will be CLOSED Saturday 9/26 and Sunday 9/27.

🐄Howell Farm will be open for self-guided tours on Saturday 9/26. “Harvest to Hearth” activities and foodservice are canceled; snacks will be available for purchase in the visitor center.

🐛“Wooly Worm Weather Forecasting” has been rescheduled to Saturday 10/31.

It's that time of year again, time to start planting crops that will support the community and our animals, but before we can plant we must plow the fields to create optimal growing conditions. We always appreciate your help, we will be plowing tomorrow 10-4 on 9/19/2026
