It’s that time of year again… Joanne’s Annual Vacation! ❤️🚂

I’ll miss seeing all of your smiling faces at SIPS Downtown Lamont, but it’s time for one of my very favorite traditions — Midwest Old Threshers Reunion in Mt. Pleasant!

For me, Old Threshers is about so much more than horses, steam engines, tractors and the good ol’ days. It’s about family, memories and traditions. Although my grandparents are they’re no longer with us, I know they’re still there in spirit. ❤️

And now we get to continue those traditions while making new memories with our children and grandchildren. That’s what makes this week so special.

I’m already looking forward to all the little things that make Old Threshers Old Threshers for our family…

🚋 Nightly trolley rides
🚂 Morning steam train rides
🍦 Afternoon ice cream
🥞 Our HUGE traditional breakfasts, now made by the “cook” — my brother Joe!
❤️ Sitting around the campsite watching the kids play, watching people go by, laughing together, and simply taking in all the sights and sounds of the grounds.

Those are the moments you can’t buy. The simple things that someday our children and grandchildren will hopefully look back on and say, “Remember when we used to…?”

If you know me, you know I’m HUGE on traditions. I love remembering the ones handed down to us while creating new ones for the generations coming behind us.

So yes, I’ll miss SIPS Downtown Lamont and all of you this week — but I’m going to enjoy my family, remember the good ol’ days, make some new memories, and soak up every minute of a tradition that means so much to me. ❤️
