Sometimes I feel weird about baking out of generosity. I’ll try to explain!
-
Having a baking business, specifically cinnamon rolls, makes me feel like maybe people think I’m always selling. Always plugging my business. Baking not out of generosity or joy, but as a calculated marketing expense. Or worse, that I’m seeking attention and praise. Ugh.

Sometimes, I wish I could just say “oh no this is my first time making them. I definitely don’t bake hundreds a week!” Or better yet, just drop the rolls on the table and deny I was even involved 🤣 Because once I give the background, it feels like the gift part of it is taken away. The “I baked these so everyone would have an excuse to chat”… turns into people thinking I’m drumming up business. The thought makes me squirm. BUT ALSO… it would be awkward if I didn’t just tell people about the business when they ask. I’m stuck lol

It’s an insecurity of mine. A small, enemy voice that tries to make me feel ashamed for being kind. “Better not be kind, what will they think?!” But I tell that voice that God knows my heart, and dammit! My heart says to bake 🤣 Any other bakers go through this? Probably just me lol

I needed to film some content, and I wanted my church friends to have a sweet morning. Everyone wins 😍
