Hello everyone!
First of all, I know it's been a while. As our homeschool year ramps up, my focus has had to turn into my home more. As I have told many of you recently in our talks, I am a wife and momma first. After those obligations; then comes the homestead. That looks different in every season, but slowly finding our steady rhythm.
As for the chicken business, we are going to basically have 2-2.5 months with low stock. We've got a few whole chickens left, a few half chickens, and drumsticks. If you want wings, breasts, or thighs, patience is going to be key. We ran more birds this last batch, but you all are still selling us out of most cuts. A great problem to have, but we just have to try and find a solution to raising more birds, without burning out. Caring for the birds on the day to day isn't the issue, but the processing is a lot with 5 kids in tow. We want to be able to care for them well, and also show them this life of raising our own food. It's a delicate balance, so please be patient with us!
As you'll see in the pictures, we are working on some great additions. The breakfast sausage is finally in the works, and I am also going to start offering bone broth. As we go into the cooler months, I want those of you who have asked to have broth already made. It will be frozen, but easily defrosted to use the amount you need and then reseal in the fridge.
As soon as we restock, I will make a big announcement and show you what we have in stock. Once again, thank you for your overwhelming support!
