Stoney Hill Dorpers

After many years of garden hoses and hauling water all winter we are leveling up! Ritchie waterer going in and frost free hydrant at the barn. If you are local to central Ohio go see Marshall Grain in Amanda about a Ritchie Waterer for your flock. Dalton Evans Excavating has also done a stellar job. Send me a message for their contact info.

Behind every safe dorper picture is a great guardian dog. Last week Hercules didn’t greet the kids at the door as they left for school. Turns out we had a lamb born in the barn that night and he was staying by the pen to make sure the new addition was safe. Two nights ago a skunk decided chicken sounded good for dinner….well Hercules didn’t agree and permanently solved that problem before any harm was done to the chickens. Thankful for dogs that never stop protecting so we can rest assured knowing our flocks are safe!

SOLD. We are gonna miss this big fella. Glad he is going to continue his work in Massachusetts!

The time has come to sell the ram that really changed everything for us. “Benny” elevated our flock immediately after we purchased him at the Ohio Showcase sale in Greenville from Huff farms. We took three of his offspring to the same sale this year and averaged over $2,100 per head. These pictures show him on pasture doing his job over the last 6 months. Not fed out on grain, washed or sheared. As you can see he sheds out tremendously well. We are keeping a big group of his ewes and we don’t have space to break up breeding flocks so it’s time for him to work his magic for the next flock. Please send a message if you are interested. If you want a ram that turns heads all the way from the living room window this is the one for you. Gonna miss looking out and seeing this beast. Located in Lancaster Ohio.

The twin showmen have their sheep settled in for the county fair. The only Dorpers and the only non club lamb sheep in the barn.

SOLD
We were planning on keeping this ram to show next year as a yearling. With fall borns on the way we could be persuaded to sell him now. If you need a ram please let us know. Full blood, registered. Genetics go back to crane creek. January Ram. He’s very long and should shed out very well.

Feeding sheep in the early morning isn’t always just about feeding sheep…

Had the chance to visit with Ron and Holly and not only see these sheep but to hear the history and connect the dots on the genetics at play. We are fortunate to have such a great resource for white dorpers here in Ohio. Don’t miss out on a chance to call some of these your own.
