Sunday, November 2, will be our last day of the 2025 harvest season. There will be some great deals all day long for apple and pumpkin pickers. We will be making cider donuts until 2pm, but if you want more than a dozen or you want a fresh baked pie, you'll need to call and order them. They freeze very well and can make a wonderful treat for Thanksgiving and Christmas meals.

If we have enough people come out, we will run a few hayrides. This is also a good time to say goodbye to the farm animals as they will be moving for the winter soon.

We still have some wonderful fall colors and lots of fruit to harvest, so we hope to see you one last time this season. We’re leaving the gates open for you.

Remember, the time falls back an hour and we will be closing at 5pm on Sunday.

Finally we got some cold weather to make our apples extra sweet and juicy! This weekend is a must visit, as New England’s famous McIntosh apples are coming to their harvest end. Fortunately, we have lots of later varieties that are going to fill in the void, but for those wanting tree picked Macs, come this week. Our pumpkin patches still have a great selection, but the early bird pumpkin picker scores the best pumpkins. For all you pumpkin pickers, don’t forget to bring some clippers to cut the stems or you’ll have to put a deposit down on our saws.

If you come hungry, Wheat and Water Crafted Doughz’s will be serving delicious, artisan, hand stretched pizzas from their food truck, and our farm kitchen will be creating all types of great tasting desserts.

Hayrides will be running both Sunday and Monday, and the farm animals will be begging for some attention. Normally we are closed on Mondays, but this Monday is a holiday, so we will be open. Pack up the family and head out to the farm. We’ll leave the gates open for you.

This week at George Hill Orchards we will be picking all types of apples and pumpkins!

On Sunday, Wheat + Water Crafted Doughz food truck will provide wonderful food to fill your stomachs! Our farm kitchen will be making fresh, homemade apple pies, turnovers and, of course, our famous cider donuts. Hayrides will be running most of the day Sunday, and weekdays by reservation. Farm animals are anxiously waiting for a snack from our pickers, and the farm beauty will soothe your soul.

We are still offering the ‘GOOD DEED DEAL,’ which gives you a free bushel of PYO apples to donate to any worthy cause if you pick a bushel for yourself.

This hot dry weather could cause the crop to lose quality as the fall goes on, so come out now to be sure to get the best picking.

Don’t forget, we also have our weekday special of PYO apple drops, great for pies, juicing and more. That’s 40lbs of apple drops for $15--best deal for pie makers, saucers and juicers!

We’re keeping this short so you’ll have plenty of time to plan your visit to George Hill Orchards in the beautiful town of Lancaster. We’ll keep the gates open for you!

Peach & Apple Picking Season is ON! 🍑🍎
This week, we’ve got lots of peaches ready to pick—plus plenty of apples too! If enough folks come out, we might even run a hayride or two on Sunday.

Heads up: we’re down to the last two weeks of our summer peaches—and they’re much sweeter than the fall ones. So if you’re a peach lover, this is the week to make your trip!

Introducing the “Good Deed Deal” 🍏💚
Wondering what that is? For the next two weeks, when you pick one bushel of apples, you get to pick a second bushel FREE.

The catch? We ask that you share your second bushel with someone who could use a little extra kindness—whether that’s a neighbor, a local shelter, or just someone who could use a smile.

We’ll be posting ideas to help inspire your good deeds—but we’d love your suggestions too! Drop a comment below with creative or meaningful ways harvesters can spread joy with their extra apples.

(And just to be clear—bringing them to a Red Sox vs. Yankees game and handing them out in the bleachers for throwing purposes is not the kind of good deed we’re looking for. 😅)

The Details:
🗓️ Deal runs for the next 2 weeks
⏰ You can do it once per day during business hours
📍 No need to ask for a “Facebook special”—just show up and pick
🕘 Open Sunday & Tuesday–Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM

We can’t wait to see all the Good Deeders out at the farm this week. Thank you for helping us share the harvest and the love.

This weekend is looking perfect for a Pick-Your-Own farm visit. You and your family can wander the farm looking for the perfect apples, grapes, blueberries and peaches. And did I mention CIDER DONUTS?! This will be our “first of the season” cider donuts experience, so that alone should get your appetite up for a farm visit.
We will be picking Ginger Gold, Gala and MacIntosh apples. We also will have grapes and a few blueberries to pick, and finally, for those who come earlier in the day, there should be peaches to harvest.
Our FaceBook Special for Sunday and Monday will be free cider donuts for those picking a ½ bushel bag of apples! All you must do is tell us you want the Facebook special when you are purchasing your ½ bushel bag for PYO apples, and you can take the ½ dozen with you to munch on while picking, or you can have us hold them for you for your ride home.
This deal is only available on Sunday and Monday this week, during farm stand hours, which are 9:00am to 6:00pm.
Summer is coming to an end, and so is our summer schedule. Wednesday, we move down to our bigger farm stand for the fall season. Check our website out for information on our location and fall hours, what’s being picked, and driving directions.
We hope to see you on our farm so we can give you a warm welcome, and yes, the gates will be open for you.
