๐ฅ **FIRE C***R โ my winter kitchen project!** ๐
I just started a jar of fire c***r, and if you've never made it, let me tell you โ it's the funkiest, fiercest thing you can pull out of your pantry when the weather turns.
**First, credit where credit is due:** fire c***r was created by herbalist Rosemary Gladstar back in the late 1970s at the California School of Herbal Studies (she coined the term in her book *Herbal Healing for Women*). Generations of kitchen witches have been brewing it ever since โ thank you, Rosemary! ๐
**What's in mine:**
๐ง Garlic (a whole head!)
๐ง
Onion
๐ซ Fresh ginger
๐ถ๏ธ Jalapeรฑos (or cayenne, if you like it HOT)
๐ Lemon & ๐ orange slices
๐ฏ Raw honey
Plus raw, unpasteurized apple c***r vinegar to cover everything.
Optional extras I love hearing about: horseradish, turmeric, cranberries, rosemary or thyme โ make it your own!
**How it goes:**
1. Chop it all up and pack it in a big glass jar.
2. Pour raw apple c***r vinegar over everything until it's covered.
3. Park it in a cool, dark cupboard for **3โ4 weeks**, shaking it every day or so.
4. Taste at 3 weeks โ when it's fierce enough, strain it and stir in honey to taste.
5. Bottle it up and sip a tablespoon in warm water, or splash it on salads and veggies!

โ ๏ธ **The serious part (please read):** Fire c***r is powerful stuff, and natural doesn't mean it's for everyone.
- **Blood thinners:** Garlic and ginger can add to the effect of blood thinners like warfarin, aspirin, or clopidogrel โ increased bleeding risk. If you take these, check with your doctor or pharmacist first.
- **Diabetes meds:** Garlic, ginger, and apple c***r vinegar can all lower blood sugar, which could push it too low combined with diabetes medications.
- **Diuretics & heart meds:** Apple c***r vinegar can affect potassium levels.
- **Reflux or ulcers:** This is spicy and acidic โ it can irritate sensitive stomachs.
- **No honey for babies under 12 months.**
- **Pregnant or breastfeeding?** Check with your healthcare provider first.
One dose of perspective: these cautions are mainly about making it a *regular habit* or taking it in concentrated doses โ a splash here and

One dose of perspective: these cautions are mainly about making it a *regular habit* or taking it in concentrated doses โ a splash here and there as food is a different story. Still, if you take medications or have a health condition, run it by your doctor or pharmacist before making it a habit. ๐
This is a folk recipe, not medical advice โ and it never replaces real medical care when you're actually sick.
