We’ve got a new employee on the schedule today… Vivi, my 14-year-old!

It’s shaping up to be a busy Saturday, so she’s getting a crash course in the family business — helping customers, learning the ropes, and finding out exactly what Mom does!

They’re learning, and I’m one very proud mom, so if things move a little slower than usual today, we appreciate a little extra patience and grace.

Be kind to the new kid — the boss is their mom, and she’s already making them work on a Saturday. 😂

Thanks for always being so good to our family and our little shop. ❤️

Like so many millions of people across the world, I was devastated to learn of Dolly Parton’s passing on Tuesday. She has always been a huge part of my life, from listening to her music since I was a small child, to visiting Dollywood with my family (and seeing the famed coat of many colors!) as a pr***en, to sharing her music with my own children, and even being lucky enough to see her perform live.

Dolly’s remarkable talent, generosity, kindness and the way she has used her success to make a difference have been an inspiration, and I can think of no better way to honor her remarkable legacy than to collect donations for her Imagination Library.

10% of all sales through 9/25 will be donated to Imagination Library, and we will also have a donation jar at the stand if you would prefer to donate that way!

Started in 1995 by Dolly and inspired by her father’s inability to read or write, Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books monthly to children from birth to age 5. Currently operating in 5 countries, the Library has gifted over 332 million books!

We’re so happy to celebrate a woman whose influence reaches far beyond music by supporting a cause that was so close to her heart.

Wishing all of our students, teachers, staff, and families a wonderful first day back to school! Wishing all of you a wonderful year of learning and growing!

We’ll have a modified schedule this morning as I take some time to see my own kids off for their first day. Thank you, as always, for understanding the balance of being a small business owner and a mom. ❤️
