Laying down on the job! The laydown farm cart was invented in Germany and remains most common in Europe. Melissa asked US Small Farm Equipment Co. in Worland if they could, would build a laydown cart and they excitedly took it on. THANK YOU Eric and his team for collaborating with Melissa to design their prototype and custom fabricating it.

Addie and Rose rode the cart for its maiden voyage today, and report it eliminated back and leg muscle strain and quickened their garlic planting speed.

Meet Mr. Faverolles! He provides leadership to the layer flock. Hens benefit from a rooster to cluck alarmingly when predators come near. Roosters also mediate hen fights to maintain harmony and organize the flock by leading the hens to water and to the roosts at night. They search out tasty morsels in the pasture - refrain from eating them - and call their hens over to eat the best food. The rooster provides safety and orderliness for happy hens.

Mr. Faverolles was selected to lead the layer flock for his calm, friendly personality. We don’t tell him about his low tail set not meeting Salmon Faverolles breeding standards which caused him to lose the modeling contest to be a breeding rooster in the breeder layer flock.
