Keany Produce and Gourmet is a family owned wholesale produce distributor servicing the Mid-Atlantic region since 1978. The Keany company history is a classic American family-owned business success story. Nearly forty years ago, eldest son Kevin, encouraged by his
father, started selling produce from the back of a van. He had limited experience in the produce business but he and his brothers had worked in their father’s food service company since their early teens and had acquired a strong work ethic and customer service skills. Their father Pat said, “If you focus on high-quality food and honest dealings with your customers, you’ll be successful. After all, everybody has to eat!” The rest is Keany history and today the company has expanded to the Richmond, Virginia market and added gourmet offerings to meet the demand in the restaurant and food service industry.
