We are picking peaches again this morning. We will be located at the Landrum Farmers Market, Greenville Farmers Market, and the Simpsonville market on Saturday morning from 8-12. We are looking forward to starting our season off with a great peach called a Flavorich.

Brandon Hyder of Landrum gave a presentation to Dr. Stanton’s Economics classes on Friday, March 28. Mr. Hyder’s family has been growing peaches in North Greenville County for more than a century, and the Hyders have long been valued and much respected members of the Upstate agricultural community.

Students learned of the many challenges and rewards of growing and selling fruit in South Carolina. The Hyder farms have managed to maintain the most critical factors of production present in this area to insure a successful and profitable peach business. Hyder’s peaches are available in most of the area farmers' markets, as well as grocery stores throughout the Upstate region.
