We’re in the Berkshire Eagle this week. The piece looks at how the North Adams Farmers Market helped four businesses — us, Door Prize, Steeple City Social, and Hexagon Bagels — build the trust and customer base to open storefronts. The NAFM has been part of our story for a long time. It’s nice to see it get some credit.
We’re on Route 7 in Lanesborough, open year-round. Come see us.

There’s nothing like a fresh sourdough baguette.

Last Saturday, the bread moved fast. A few customers came back for a second loaf. That’s usually the sign.

If you want bread waiting for you this weekend, preorder.

East Fork Bread arrives fresh Saturday morning at Red Shirt Farm Market. Organic flour. Natural levain. Slow fermentation. Real structure. Real flavor. And it keeps on the counter for days.

The baguettes are hard to beat. The Country loaves (batard or Pullman) are as versatile as it gets. The Seeded continues to be a favorite. Olive and Rye are both back.

And this week, Ben is adding something new:

Spelt Sandwich Bread.

Soft, fine crumb. Mild, slightly nutty flavor. Tender — not dense, not “health food.” Slices cleanly. Holds up to butter, jam, egg sandwiches, peanut butter, whatever you throw at it.

Made with organic stone-ground whole spelt flour, sourdough culture, olive oil, maple syrup, and salt.

It’s an everyday loaf — done right.

Preorders close Wednesday at 7:00pm. Click on the link in our bio to preorder now! 🥖

We’ll be here.

Meet the Maker:
LAM Honey Tasting — Friday, November 21 • 4–6 PM

Join us in the store to meet local beekeeper Lori Mead, creator of LAM Honey — raw, unfiltered Berkshire honey infused with herbs, roots, and botanicals for both flavor and function.

Sample the full lineup —
    •    Bee Happy (soothing and floral),
    •    Ginger Garlic (bold and savory-sweet),
    •    Hot & Salty Turmeric (earthy with gentle heat),
    •    Speak Easy (cooling and herbal), and
    •    Elderberry (deep and fruity).

Each variety is crafted in small batches and gently infused to preserve the living enzymes and character of pure raw honey. Taste, learn, and take home your favorite jar — a sweet reminder that real food can also be real medicine.

When Life Gives You Apples, Make Dessert!
A Hands-On Pie-Baking Workshop at Red Shirt Farm Market
Just in time for Thanksgiving, join us for an evening of butter, flour, and apple-scented inspiration. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn to make three classic apple desserts—each with its own signature crust:
    •    Double-Crust Apple Pie (pâte brisée)
    •    Apple Tart (pâte sucrée or pâte sablée)
    •    Rustic Apple Galette (free-form single crust)
We’ll start with a tasting of each dessert, then roll up our sleeves to make the doughs together. You’ll mix, roll, and shape each crust type alongside our instructor, learning the techniques that make for tender, flaky pastry every time.
Each participant will:
    •    Make and take home three types of pie dough, ready to bake or freeze.
    •    Assemble and bring home a small double-crust apple pie—ready to freeze and bake for Thanksgiving.
    •    Learn the science behind great baking: how flour, fat, and technique work together for perfect results.
    •    Explore the cultural and historical roots of pie-making traditions.
    •    Gain confidence in rolling, shaping, decorating, and finishing your pies beautifully.
We’ll talk butter, baking times, ingredient swaps, and creative variations—all while alleviating any lingering “pie anxiety.”
Workshop Fee: $55 per person
Date: Thursday, November 20th
Time: 6:00–8:00 p.m.
Location: Red Shirt Farm Market Kitchen
Space is limited—each class is kept small for individual guidance and plenty of hands-on time.
Go home with a finished pie ready to freeze (and wow your Thanksgiving guests), plus the skills to bake with confidence for years to come. Click the link in our bio to sign up! 🥧
