It’s about that time (does anyone else immediately follow that with the line, “to break forth the rhythm and the rhyme”? Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch? No? Just me then 😅😅)

Actually, it’s about that time to cut back your hellebores foliage. It helps with air circulation and to make room for the new foliage to grow and in my opinion, to help showcase the beautiful winter flowers!

I still have some hellebores that I recently dug up that are for sale, $5 each-“Rosado”, “Picotee”, and “Brunello”. Dm me if you’re interested.

I’m feeling thankful for the little things this year, the tiny red crabapples when it’s raining, the bright yellow ginkgo tree (and our two goofy pups), and little fuzzy fungi.

And the big things like the beautiful stars, our place on Whidbey and the supportive people we’ve met this year, and always at the top of the list, our friends and family.

Happy Thanksgiving to all 🍁

So what is still for sale if the farm stand is closed?

I’m sure this question is on everyone’s mind, lol!

Still available:
Butternut squash-$5 for large, $3 for small
Tokyo blue squash (similar flavor to pumpkin but milder)-$5 each
Quince-$1 each

Since the weather has been pretty wet lately and I find myself less inclined to swing down to the farm stand, just give me a holler (message me on IG or text me @253-820-2822) and let me know what you’d like and I’ll set it out and you can pick it up at your convenience!

First of all, thank you all for your continued support of our farm stand since we started it several months ago! Whether it’s liking our instagram stories or posts, or buying something at our stand, or telling us that you love our produce, it really means the world to us 🥹

We are finally closing the farm stand for the season. We were hoping to keep it going to sell the winter squashes, apples and quinces but honestly just can’t be bothered when the weather is nasty 😜 I will make sure to post those items that are still available for sale and if you want some just give me a holler and I will put what you want out at the farm stand in a waterproof box with your name on it 🙌

In other news, we finally bit the bullet and purchased a freeze dryer and we’re currently enjoying learning how to process the extra produce that we froze throughout the summer. Well, “enjoying” may be too strong of a word but we’re getting it figured out so that hopefully next season we can offer some freeze dried products for long term storage, emergency supplies, hiking/boating/camping, or just for how it emphasizes the delicious flavors 🤩

Our commercial kitchen build has hit a bit of a snag, but we’re still hoping to have that up a running by next spring. The idea is that not only can we offer freeze dried foods then but also hope to offer limited baked items as well.

In the meantime, I will try to be better about posting about the different things we’re working on, there just aren’t enough hours in the day 😂

In case you needed a break from the craziness, I present to you an orange belted bumblebee having a tiny snack 😍
