I could have just closed the doors.

But something in me knew we needed to honor this ending, thank this space for holding us & to intentionally cross into the next season.

Yesterday, my sister-friends Amber Ritual Artist + Guide | Herbalist - Amber & Jenn Colored Girls Liberation Lab guided us through Threshold; our FINAL gathering at Adjourn Studio.

Jenn led us into meditation. We listened. We time traveled. We sat in quiet together. We braved that loud-ass AC. 😂 (SN: Glad to release that 😒)

And I poured Threshold, a deeply personal tea I originally blended to support my own body & spirit through pregnancy. Until yesterday, only my husband and I had ever sipped it. It was unnamed and unshared and I am grateful that we brought life to this blend. ✨

And then there were the women. Some familiar. Some brand new and already family. All of us carrying something we were ready to release.

For the first time, I could feel it clearly: the studio was bursting with love and somehow too damn small to hold Adjourn anymore. For the first time, the space felt tiny & I realized I did what I came to do. 🖤

So we let her go.

And before I crossed the threshold myself, my sister Amber took my hands + guided me through. 🙏🏽

What a way to say thank you.
What a way to leave.
What a way to welcome more.

Sometimes the PAUSE is quiet. Sometimes the PAUSE is shaking a little ass + remembering you’re alive! 🪩

Tomorrow night, we’re choosing the latter!
One last party at the TeaHOUSE. 🖤🪩

Many years of pours, pauses, playlists, experiments, gatherings, good people + a whole lot of becoming happened at Nicole Drive.

Tomorrow, we’re giving thanks with the volume turned UP!!

My sister DJ (blayah) is curating the soundtrack + we’ll pass the aux cord, love. We’ll have a tea cocktail flowing. Bring a bottle + come ready to kick it!! Grab a ticket before hand or JUST SHOW UP…donations welcome at the door!

We’re dancing. Chilling. Reminiscing. Toasting to what this room held and calling in whatever comes next.

And we’re not over-programming a damn thing. 😂

We’re passing the aux cord. Pouring tea. Making cocktails. Dancing if the spirit says dance. Sitting in the corner talking s**t if that’s what the night calls for. 😂 We’re making the night ours to enjoy.

I am a student of TEA and PAUSE. ✨

I am also an intuitive tea blender which means I spend time learning about + selecting each ingredient before I blend.

I am exploring tea from a beautiful tea sampler I got from Seven Teahouse.

Part of my process for selecting base teas is to simply choose what I adore before adding any magic to it. This is my PAUSE.

I sit.
I smell.
I feel.
I sip.
I taste.

And, if I love what I feel, you’ll see this ingredient soon.

A little glimpse of Asé. ✨
There isn’t much footage from last night. That’s intentional.

Asé wasn’t something I wanted us to perform for the camera. I wanted us to be inside of it.

There were pours: witness. release. receive.

We drank beautiful tea. We wrote. We listened. We let some things go to make room for what is coming. ✨

I’m still surprised (and grateful) that this first gathering sold out!! 🥹🙏🏽

Thank you for trusting me with your time and allowing me to witness you. ❤️

And my sis jennsroberts gave EACH pour its own Sonic grounding. Thank you for guiding us through this transmutation and Adjourn (and me) so beautifully through this season. 💐

For a little while, that room felt like a portal.
