Today would’ve been my mama’s 64th birthday AND my parents’ wedding anniversary. Today is also the day I chose to start Adjourn 7 years ago. 🥹💕

I lost them both to cancer before I turned 30. Somewhere inside that grief, I found tea. Or maybe tea found me.

Adjourn was born from that love and longing. From learning how to sit with memory. How to soften. How to keep breathing. Every blend, every pour, every intentional PAUSE carries their fingerprints.

My parents taught me a love that was patient, earnest, authentic, and deeply caring. Adjourn is a reflection of that love in real time. I truly hope you feel it even in my quiet moments.

I miss them terribly. And I honor them with every beautiful thing I continue to build.

Happy Birthday, Mama. Happy Anniversary to my first example of devotion. Thank y’all for continuing to adjourn with me for 7 whole asa years!!

Our very first deck. Feel Flow 🌊

Before Root + Flow. Before had language. This was ME… feeling my way through it.

And baby, she still speaks.

I am worthy of love.
I am worthy of joy.
I am worthy of peace.
I am worthy of breath.
I am worthy of ease.
I am worthy of softness.
I am worthy of being held.
I am worthy of nourishment.
I am worthy of safety.
I am worthy of becoming.
I am worthy of it all.

Looking back at this deck, I feel so much pride. Not because it was perfect, but because it was honest…typos and ALL 😂. It was the beginning of me trusting what wanted to come through.

Adjourn has continued to evolve and stretch and deepen.

In May, we turn 7.
Seven years of tea.
Seven years of PAUSE.
Seven years of LOVE.

*How would you describe Adjourn to someone who’s never experienced our work or been to the studio?* I would LOVE to hear YOUR thoughts, love!

Today, I wondered if the energy we’re collectively illuminating at Adjourn is…working.

But, I let my mind drift for a second…JUST a spell.
- Does this even make sense? To WHOM?
- Does that even matter and to WHOM?
- Is there longevity? Does that even matter and to Whom?

This is a clip of me setting up a Slow Pour in a space I never imagined for us. I was OBEDIENT and let spirit guide me here.

A space that once held boxes and shipping labels now holds people…breathing, sipping, softening.

Dozens of orders turned into dozens of bodies in the room each month. That shift? That’s NOT small.

And the way I run this business…
it doesn’t always “make sense” on paper.
It’s slower. It’s more intentional. It’s rooted in feeling, in ritual, in people. Some folks would disagree with all of it. It’s also JUST ME!!! 😮‍💨

But my quality of life has changed.
The way we gather has changed.
Something REAL is happening here.

Adjourn feels like an evolving cipher.
What we bring in…what we leave behind…what we exchange. The good energy doesn’t disappear. I put it right back into the work.

So the question isn’t really “to whom does it matter?”

It’s: does it matter to ME? Yes.

Does it feel good in my body and in this community I’m a part of? Yes.

Do I see myself doing some version of this…for a long time? Also yes.

And for now…that’s more than enough.

Hey love, I’m LaTonia 💕Tea alchemist, curator, artist, and the hands + soul behind Adjourn.

I went back and forth about posting these intimate photos from my little PAUSE, because to me, PAUSE is SIMPLE. Sustainable. Something you can do anywhere!

But there is also something beautiful about pausing safely in community with loved ones.

My bestie invited me to Roatán, Honduras, and for a few days. Sun on our skin. Salt water. No rushing EVER!! ☀️

I stepped away from the studio, the emails, the orders, and got quiet enough to ask myself, WHO am I in this season?

This trip did not give me all the answers, but it gave me space to hear myself again…to slow down and SEE. To FEEL.

Now, you do NOT have to go to Roatán to pause. This is just what it looked like for me last week!
