This story begins almost 70 years ago. As a new bride living in Nebraska, my Mother learned to make Runza’s from a woman of German descent. A Runza is a bun stuffed with cabbage and meat and a few other tasty things. About a century ago, the Runza came to America with immigrants. The recipe has survived with each generation handing it down to the next one. Only in this case, the person learning to make the traditionally German, Eastern European food was Japanese! My mother carefully typed up the recipe on an index card. To the delight of her family, she continued to make Runzas. Everyone loved them: family, friends, husbands, grandchildren, and guests. She taught me to make them when I was a young girl. And just like my mother, I continued to bake them too! After deciding to share my favorite savory recipes, the final step was to name my business. Where did that come from? Once upon a time, there really was a three-legged hare in my life! A once in a lifetime special rabbit, George, showed me that different is beautiful!

Come find us located outside of the Grand Fromage shop and treat yourself to something savory (or sweet) while you stroll through the festivities.
We have all of our savoy pies, apple orchard cake and our special Tomato Tart
We’ll be here from 10am-6pm, so stop by, say hi, and grab something delicious to take home or enjoy while you explore!

Skippack Days is a fall favorite and you’ll find us at The Grand Fromage all day Saturday with savory pies, sour goat tarts, orchard cake and a special Tomato Tart!

This weekend, we’re taking Three Legged Hare on the road, and we’re bringing the good stuff!
SATURDAY, OCT 3: Find us at The Grand Fromage in Skippack Village for Skippack Days (10am-6pm, rain or shine).
SUNDAY, OCT 4: We’re back at the Horsham Farmers Market, 435 Babylon Rd., 10am-1pm.
Here’s what’s coming out of our kitchen:
🍅 Our special Tomato Tart: herb and garlic cheese, fresh tomatoes and flaky puff pastry, it’s the last bit of summer in a bite
🥧 Savory Pies: flaky, buttery, and filled with savory goodness
🐐 Sour Goat Tarts: tangy, sweet, and sour
🍎 Orchard Cake: fresh picked apples in a brown sugar cinnamon cake, a little treat for your sweet tooth
Stroll the booths, shop the artisans, soak up the fall vibes, then swing by The Grand Fromage for something warm, buttery and delicious.
And if you can’t make it Saturday, we’ll see you Sunday at Horsham Farmers Market!

Come see us for our full lineup of handheld, savory goodness. There is something for everyone with meat pies, veggies pies and some sweet treats!
This week our Apple Orchard Cake is back! A moist brown sugar cinnamon cake loaded with fresh picked apples. It’s basically fall in a cup! Grab one (or three, we won’t judge) before they’re gone!
