My name is Wendi King. I’m affectionately known as Lolli by my grandchildren. My husband, Eric King is Pop, affectionately called Poppa and he owns Poppa’s Cookbook LLC.

I’ve been making and baking all the treats for our restaurant and for Valentine’s Day my husband gifted me this business, as a part of the restaurant, to celebrate my family inspired line of desserts.

Part of our restaurant mission at Poppa’s Cookbook is to make sure no one goes hungry. We feed the homeless and those unable to feed themselves. As the weather got cold, I became passionate about helping those same people warm up, and hot chocolate was my beverage of choice. Meet my mother in love, Dr. LoValerie King. She watches over us from heaven. But when she was here on earth, she loved a good banana split. She preferred hers with butter pecan ice cream, but I usually use vanilla.

Any dessert I bake can be made Ma Val style by topping it with ice cream, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, caramel, chocolate, nuts, whipped cream, and/or sprinkles.

Meet Grandgirl 3, our angel grandbaby Milani Joy, and the little sister of Grandgirl 1. I never got to know Milani, but I love peanut butter and I would’ve introduced her to it and I believe she would’ve loved it like I do. I have created two desserts in honor of Milani.

The first is Milani’s Joy, a peanut, peanut butter and cheesecake brownie with a peanut butter cookie base.

The second is Milani’s Mix-Up, a peanut butter and chocolate chip cookie filled with a peanut butter surprise.

Meet Grandgirl 1, she is the baby of my legacy and all she talks about is Delta, so of course her dessert had to be red and white. True’s Luv has a delicious sugar cookie base baked with a red velvet, brownie and cheesecake swirl. True’s Luv is always my dessert special during December and February because of the holiday colors!
