Charlie Brockwell grew up in Muskegon, Michigan, located on the shores of Lake Michigan. In 1961, at age 16, he started his food service career at McDonalds as a line cook. Charlie managed a well known Muskegon area restaurant for the better part of 20 years until, opening his own restaurant in 1983 with wife Nancy. The Family Inn was a well known destination for Charlie's famous pork bar-b-ques a

nd special family recipes. After closing The family Inn in 1993, due to health concerns, Charlie and Nancy continued their food service career in catering events in the Western Michigan area. Since Charlie's passing in 2013, his wife has been working on continuing his legacy...
