Charlie Brockwell grew up in Muskegon, Michigan, located on the shores of Lake Michigan. In 1961, at age 16, he started his food service career at McDonalds as a line cook. Charlie managed a well known Muskegon area restaurant for the better part of 20 years until, opening his own restaurant in 1983 with wife Nancy. The Family Inn was a well known destination for Charlie's famous pork bar-b-ques and special family recipes. After closing The family Inn in 1993, due to health concerns, Charlie and Nancy continued their food service career in catering events in the Western Michigan area. Since Charlie's passing in 2013, his wife has been working on continuing his legacy...

❤️‍🩹Surgery Update- Mom is out of surgery & doing well, this is outpatient and she is about to go home!

Another Health Update:

For my friends, family members and all of my wonderful customers...
tomorrow(July 25th) is the day.

I'm having spinal surgery to correct pinched nerves and herniated discs in my cervical region.

This came on all of a sudden three weeks ago. My left arm and hand have become numb and prickly, while at the same time having severe pain all through them.

Dr Eyke from OAM will be doing the surgery and while reassuring me of a good outcome, he is also telling me it may be time to give up the hard work that is wearing on my 70 year old body.

Right now I have to focus on the surgery..Joy will be with me, giving updates and once again...holding my hand.

Thanks for all the good wishes you've been sending these past few weeks...they've gotten me through some awfully painful days.
