We haven't shared much about the journey of breeding season this year, mainly because it has been pure chaos and one of the busiest Springs!

Buuuutttttt....... we are expecting a foal early April of 2027. This will be Destiny's first foal by Iron Horse MM Steele! πŸ‘Ά

Our first breeding was missed due to UPS holding our package for a week. 😭😭

Due to work schedule and leaving for vacation, we short cycled (meaning gave her a shot to come into heat a week earlier so we didn't miss her window) and planned to drive to Canada to pick up the swimmers!

Wismer Clydesdales offered to meet me at the border and do the hand off, so 15 minutes in Canada and I was headed back to the farm.

Checked Destiny that night and the next morning. It was perfect timing to breed!

Someone is on happy drugs. Grandma Kelly is in her 20s and it's time we decided to explore some joint injections to keep her limber and running with the young girls.

We made the trip to Cassopolis to see Doc Fedore for some work. She's such a trooper making the trip. We got home, she got a bath while munching on clover and back in front of her fan!

Don't forget to water your horses so they don't shrink! 🌧

It's been a bit dry so figured it was a good time to break out Destiny's favorite sprinkler.

She loves water and then rolling into a muddy mess. But guess what.....? We don't plan to prep for shows so be a horse Destiny! Roll in mud then go stand in your shelter with the fan. Enjoy it!

Destiny (daughter) and Kelly (mother) enjoy wither scratches when out in the field!

All the girls get turned out together to enjoy grass time when the weather allows.

🌷🌹It is that time of the year where our yard becomes alive with the pollinators! When the house was finished, the decision to plant the yard with clover was appealing. Low maintenance, less water needed and a benefit to the local critters. πŸžπŸ›πŸ¦‹

The plan is to have the driveway lined halfway down with native wildflowers amongst the Aspen trees to provide less maintenance and attract the native critters.

We have seen our first friends and cannot wait to see the other seasonal insects! πŸ₯°

Oh pretty lady! Looking forward to the lovely weather in the forecast.... Kelly is just keeping the youngins in line!

They come when called just like big ol dogs!! Since the girls aren't used to being on grass, we are taking it slow so after a few hours they head back to their runs up front. Miss Kelly, aka grandma, is a senior horse so gets a run by herself. This way we can ensure the kids don't steal her grain and she gets all the hay she wants.
