I grew up with a love for baseball and the Chicago White Sox thanks to my Dad and Grandpa Bob. I knew who Shoeless Joe Jackson was and Carlton Fisk, and every spring we watched *Field of Dreams*. And the classic line, “People will come,” randomly snuck back into my mind this spring.
When moving to full-time farming, I knew I wanted to continue doing farmers’ markets. They mean a lot; it’s where I connect with the community and remember why I’m doing all of this in the first place: because we all deserve food grown with more care than what is currently being grown on such a large scale. But going to market is always a little leap of faith. Sometimes it rains, sometimes life gets busy, and sometimes you wonder if anyone will show up.
The other day my dad asked, “Marge, are you excited for market?” And I said, “People will come.” 💕👩🌾🌻
