Doin' our best to keep them prices low, pardners! Just like my grandpa (see his picture in the window, lower left?) I bet we can do it for MUCH less than THEY can (even if you use your insurance THERE!) And OUR frames are made in the free world (many from the USA!) We rely on you for referrals - have your friends ask us before the exam, HOW to get their prescriptions. (The doctor is required by law to hand the patient a prescription immediately after the exam, before trying to sell you glasses - but I can help you avoid any kind of confrontation.) And we have out-of-network claim forms for VSP insurance.

Good information for family historians!

Good information for family historians!

Even if the land was never officially granted, the canceled and relinquished case files are often times full of more information than you would find in a completed homestead file. These files can tell a story as rich as any successful homestead land file, so don’t overlook the canceled & relinquished homestead files—they could hold the missing pieces to your research puzzle.

BUT—here’s the catch: Only a handful of these files (from places like Nebraska and Kansas) are available online. The vast majority are still tucked away at the National Archives in Washington, D.C.

That’s where we come in!
The Civil War Records team is onsite at the Archives every week, ready to access these homestead files—and so much more—for you.
Ready to uncover the full story? We’re here to help! https://civilwarrecords.com/

When work began on Mount Rushmore in 1927, there were very few women in the American workforce. It was uncommon at this time for women to work outside of the home and their options were limited. Women did however work at Mount Rushmore.

Although these women did not work on the mountain itself, they did provide valuable support for the project. The women's duties included office work, sales, housekeeping, and management. Would this enormous undertaking have run smoothly without the beneficial contributions of these women?
