Pig Hill

Pig Hill A page setup up to share the love our family farm has for raising pork to help feed the world. Pig Hill is part of a fourth generation diversified family farm.

In 1976 Howard Mogler, a second generation crop and cattle farmer, looked to the swine industry for an opportunity to bring his sons into the family farming business. This led to the construction of the original “Pig Hill” a 230 head sow farm. In 1993 Pig Hill doubled to 450 sows. By 2002 Pig Hill doubled again to a 900 head sow farm. As time went on and Howard’s grandchildren started coming back

to the farm to work, the family decided that it was time to build a new sow farm to open opportunities for the fourth generation to provide for their families. In March of 2015 ground was broke on the new “Pig Hill West” sow farm. Pig Hill West is being constructed in two phases. During 2015 three main pig barns were constructed for housing all of the gilt development and half of the breeding, gestation, farrowing, and hot nursery. Current plans are to double the farm in 2016 by constructing two more barns containing more breeding, gestation, farrowing and nursery space taking the site to its 4,400 sow capacity. The facility is being constructed with the most modern technologies in the swine industry including airborne pathogen filtration, large group gestation pens with electronic sow feeders, an onsite hot nursery, and other "cutting edge” technologies to increase efficiencies and animal welfare. The Mogler family is excited about the opportunities this farm will create not only for themselves, but for the surrounding communities as they take part in pork production.
