Another load of South Texas Buffel seed headed out. Countless hours in the field, but seeing these bags loaded makes it all worthwhile. ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿšœ

Ever wonder what happens after a bee swarm is caught?

Today weโ€™re giving this swarm a new home at La Gorra Azul Ranch. ๐Ÿ

What looks like thousands of bees flying around is actually one of natureโ€™s most amazing events. A swarm occurs when a colony outgrows its hive and leaves with a queen to start fresh somewhere new.

After safely catching this swarm, we carefully placed them into a hive box where theyโ€™ll begin building comb, raising brood, storing honey, and growing into a strong colony.

Beekeeping isnโ€™t always easy, but helping these bees find a safe home is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

Watch the process from start to finish as Tracy transfers this swarm into its new hive. Have you ever seen a swarm this close before?

If you donโ€™t have a Veterinarian for your large animals or small get in touch with one and establish yourself as a client. Screwworm doesnโ€™t discriminate large as well as small animals are potential targets of this parasitic fly. The animals you are responsible for are depending on all of us to act on their behalf and be proactive & responsible.

Yesterday Dr. Jarman had multiple ranch calls to establish a Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR). What does this mean? We as veterinarians are required by law to physically see a patient before we can provide treatment, prescribe drugs, or even offer advice. This is required by the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners, and it is even specific that this relationship cannot be established via virtual appointment. This is especially important right now for our livestock owners. If we have physically seen livestock animals for an owner within the past year and are well acquainted with their operation, we are able to prescribe medications for prevention of screwworm. If we do not have that relationship, then we legally cannot provide or prescribe any medications. This also goes for our small animal patients that need a prescription for Credelio, which is our flea and tick prevention that is approved for prevention of screwworm. If your pet is not a current patient, we cannot prescribe this medication to you.
If you have questions about establishing a VCPR, or would like to schedule an appointment, please call us at 956-333-3360 or use the online portal at candcvetservices.com.

Buffel grass is almost readyโ€ฆ and around here, timing is everything. Weโ€™re just days away from another seed drop, and George is out checking the fields daily โ€” watching the color, the heads, and the way the seed is holding. One good wind or rain and it can all fall fast. The countdown to harvest is on at La Gorra Azul Ranch.๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿšœ

This is the final production line for our Buffel seed ๐ŸŒพ
After days of harvesting, the seed goes through our cleaner where airflow and screens remove sticks, dust, and unwanted material to separate the good seed.
Once cleaned, we bag it into 50 lb bags ready for customers.
Not many people get to see this part of the process, but itโ€™s one of the most important steps.
