Grayson’s idea to sell wool off farm.
Interested in some wool for any of your projects reach out to our farm.

As part of ASI’s Wool Reimagined contest, we’re highlighting finalist ideas that expand potential uses for American wool, particularly lower-value fiber with limited markets.

Finalist spotlight: Wool for Trapping (Grayson Maxwell).

This idea creates a direct-to-customer outlet for whole, unwashed fleeces, selling lower-quality wool straight from the farm (storefront and online) to wildlife trappers. The model is simple: no washing, sell the whole fleece, improve returns to the producer for wool that often brings little value through traditional channels.

There’s also a second benefit producers understand immediately: supporting trapping on livestock operations can help address predator pressure, a practical win for flock protection while creating a market for wool that might otherwise be discarded.

We received many strong entries and will be featuring Wool Reimagined finalists throughout the year
