Announcement: Season Ending for Big Furrh Produce on Friday, July 10th.
Our "best laid" plans had us running all of summer break (from June through July), but as many of you know, this was our first year scaling up. We anticipated a few things happening that we'd have to learn from, and this is one of them.
Our later plantings matured faster than our early plantings which means we ran through our major crops faster we anticipated. We're out of corn, peas, and just about out of melons.
We could keep running with just tomatoes and squash, but thats not the kind of experience Big Furrh Produce wants to offer.
Although we had hoped for a slightly longer season, we are blown away at the success we had in the seven weeks we lasted. Thank you everyone who helped us get started, came to see us, followed us, liked and shared our posts, and made our first season so much fun.
We have our fingers crossed for something in the fall, and we will definitely be back at it next summer, but until then we are going to have one last time at the farmstand - this Friday (7/10) - from 11 to 3p.
Thank you all for a great first season!
