Summer is arriving row by row 🌱✨

This morning at the farm we observed:

🍅 transplanted, seed-started, tomatoes into the field
🌽 Sweet corn in the Food Not Bombs plot stretching up beautifully
🎃 Pumpkins thriving in the heat
🥒 And the zucchini coming in strong

There’s something deeply grounding about watching food grow through collective care, early mornings, shared labor, water, patience, and trust in the season ahead.

Grateful for everyone helping tend this land and the relationships growing alongside it. 💚

Today has looked like:
🌿 processing herbs
🍑 learning how to make apricot jam
🌼 making yarrow tinctures
🌸 noticing my marshmallow flowering
🐛 checking on caterpillars
🐝 being visited by the bees
🐦 listening to and watching the birds
✨ moving slowly enough to enjoy it all

Grateful for a day off, a thriving garden, and the kind of abundance that asks you to participate in it.

We are currently seeking families birthing in Las Cruces or El Paso who may be a good fit for one of our 3 free doula support spots.

If your due date falls between now and July, this may be an opportunity to receive supportive, compassionate care throughout your pregnancy and birth experience. Support may include prenatal guidance, continuous birth support, and ongoing encouragement during this important season of life.

These spots are limited and intended for families within the Las Cruces and El Paso area. If you’re interested in learning more, we would love to connect with you.

This week at Lopez Legacy Farms with leading the way reminded us what becomes possible when community gathers around land, care, and collective vision 🌱

On Wednesday, we welcomed FORA to witness the work growing here — regenerative agriculture, compost systems, food sovereignty, and community-rooted birthworker stewardship in southern New Mexico.

Thursday brought the NM Agrarian Commons Board of Directors together for meaningful conversation, connection, and shared visioning grounded in care for land and people.

On Friday, we got our hands in the soil building compost together while Food Not Bombs continued tending their growing plot on the farm 🌾

And today, we were honored to host the cohort for another day of learning, relationship-building, and imagining community-rooted futures together.

This land continues to hold space for healing, learning, organizing, food, memory, and possibility. Deep gratitude to everyone who walked with us this week 💛

Have you seen our short film produced last year by Tameika L. Hannah for New Mexico Agrarian Commons and Lopez Legacy Farms presentation at the Regenerate Conference?

It's crazy to think we were just getting started in October 2025 and today, the site has grown exponentially! We are now growing on about 3 acres and have added a herd of milking goats to the family; thanks to the work of farm manager Shahid Mustafa and Taylor Hood Farms!

We are serving more people with locally grown, regenerative produce! This work is reconnecting families to farmers, restoring soil, and conserving water.

🌿✨ From soil to glass ✨🌿

Huge love and gratitude to Shahid Mustafa of Taylor Hood Farms for these stunning greens. You can taste the care.

Your dedication to growing food with integrity and for community inspired us to finally bring this juicer home. We’re leaning into deeper nourishment, more intentional consumption, and making sure the produce grown right here in southern New Mexico is fully honored.

Today’s blend: kale, beet 🫜 with greens, carrots, cucumber, green apple, ginger, and fresh lime.
Color therapy. Mineral medicine. Community in a jar. 💚❤️

There’s something powerful about knowing who grows your food. About circulating resources locally. About building health that is rooted in relationship and reciprocity.

Grateful for farmers who nourish the land and the people. Grateful for collaboration over competition. Grateful for greens that glow like this.

Here’s to more fresh juice, more community abundance, and more collective wellness.

✨ From soil to salt to slow magic ✨

Today at Lopez Legacy Farms, I leaned into learning—hands deep in the abundance grown with care by ! 🌱

Turnips, radishes, carrots, jalapeños, garlic… sliced, salted, spiced, and gently tucked into jars to begin their fermentation journey. This feels like ancestral science—preserving nourishment, honoring the harvest, and letting time do its quiet work.

Fermenting veggies is teaching me patience, trust, and how much flavor comes from relationship—with land, with farmers, with our own hands. Grateful for fresh farm produce, curiosity-led days, and foodways that connect us back to ourselves and each other.

Stay tuned to see how these jars transform 💚
