Schmitz' Homebrew

Schmitz' Homebrew A Work In Perfection Starting with a passion and love for beer, I thought I would try my hand brewing. My wife has been very supportive and a great assistant.

We brew about two 5 gallon batches a month, which yields 96 to 108 12oz bottles. As we go through trial and error is how big of a mess we make in our little kitchen, but we scrupulously follow all sanitizing steps. Depending on the type of beer brew time can vary from 2 to 4 hours (set up, brewing, and clean up included). Then depending on our time frame and the type of beer fermentation can take

3 to 6 weeks. The cost of brewing is well worth the benefits, but it does cost $40-$70 a batch. Donations for supplies are greatly welcomed. Feedback is appreciated and needed for improvement and encouragement
Fully enjoy every sip! "He was a wise man who invented beer."
-Plato

"Brewers enjoy working to make beer as much as drinking beer instead of working."
-Harold Rudolph

"Beer - Because one doesn't solve the world's problems over white wine."
-Anonymous

"I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer."
-Abraham Lincoln

"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."
-Benjamin Franklin

"This is grain, which any fool can eat, but for which the Lord intended a more divine means of consumption... Beer!"
-Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves, Friar Tuck

"From man’s sweat and God’s love, beer came into the world."
-Saint Arnold of Metz, The patron Saint of Brewers

I still think about opening a micro brewery. If I put in the work, it would be hit. If only brewing paid a livable wage.

Just bottled the Dudley Do-Right Ale.
It is a English brown brewed with Canadian malts, maple syrup and fresh roasted chestnuts.
Sweet and nutty up front and finishes dry and minerally with hint of vanilla.
Courtesy of my recent trip to Canada... aye

I just brewed a French saison for this spring season. I have a feeling that it'll be a hit!
The ingredients include organic sweet basil, white pepper, and fresh lemon zest.
