Wonderful outcome so far with Moon Vly. They have come back, dug up all the pipes that were poorly installed. They are doing what ever they can to make this job right. It is taking longer than I would like; but, As long as they keep correcting things timely, I will work with them till I am satisfied. They dug up every pipe and lowered them all at least 8 inches...the pipes were only underground 1 or 2 inches when the first crew left and some were not buried at all. My hose bibs are flopping in in the breeze and they should be back to correct that issue...the trees are struggling; but, I am working with them for replacements. Everything is not right yet, but there is hope.

Just received a call from a concerned resident asking if a dozen of my peacocks are out and about near Silverstone....after a little thought the lightbulb went off!!!! it is clear that the noise from the new loud speakers installed at the park are now driving the peacocks out of the park into harms way...such a disgusting thing the City of Las Vegas has done to the last safe place for wildlife and people to have quiet sanctuary... everyone should call the mayors office and voice their concern.. Lou Desalvio said he would reverse this nonsense if he is fortunate enough to win the ward 6 city council position. If you care about saving our park your voice needs to be heard.

I keep seeing this mess of mud on my porch ceiling fan chain...I think about bringing a ladder to clean and make sure the fan is oiled so I can allow our crazy African Gry parrot to spend time on the porch with a little breeze.

WELLLLL, no no!!! thank goodness I never got the ladder. This morning as I bring the parrot outside and check her for food and water I notice that the mess is getting larger on the fan chain... I am so excited as I see the tiny little hummingbird fly off her nest.. ok so now I have a fan that shall be nonfunctioning forever.... wonderful trade off...can not wait for babies...

We receive many calls wanting to know of our hours open to the public...because we are a volunteer group and many of those that give of their time have jobs or school during the week, we are only able to open on Sat and Sun from 9 to 4...hopefully we will be able to become self sustaining and be able to hire paid staff in the future. However, finding proper staff has been a problem of late... every time we feel we may be turning the corner and bringing in enough to finally, not only support the animals, but, pay staff someone believes there is enough business to go around and changes the nearby zoning to enable more competitition which sets us back a few more years... we wish we could be open at least 4 days; but, it is very difficult to supply our outdoor venue with veggies, fruits, baked goods and other fresh products for 4 days rather than 2. Finding staff has become a real problem. It seems no one wants to work anymore.

We have just brought on Robyn..she will be learning many areas of how BBR @ THE FARM works and taking some of the load off of volunteers like Kelly, Rosa and me. We hope we find where she is best suited and fits into the workings of BBR @ THE FARM within a short time. We are grateful for all those that support us and help us help the animals. Of course Robyn is being supervised by Penny and Peter till she is comfortable with her new jobs...doesnt everyone have goat helpers when clearing out a messy room???

The Las Vegas Farm | A family-friendly landmark in Las Vegas

I believe some may not fully understand that we are not a business for profit...we are a 501c(3) non profit farm animal rescue. Neither Glenn, Sharon, Kelly and many others are not paid nor have we ever been paid.. Every dollar from the market and entry to the animals is used to feed, house and support veterinary care for the animals.. Be patient with us as we do our best to open gates, set up market and answer phones... we are always pulled 10 different directions most every minute of the day...of course the animals always come first. We appreciate everyones support and love of the abused animals we care for every day here at Barn Buddies Rescue @ The Las Vegas Farm...

We have spent so many hours trying to trap a huge, very unhappy gray cat. After trapping all the dumped ginger kitties, this big gray guy was the last to finally decide to step into the trap. We have had all the cats including Big Gray Boy, spayed, neutered and shots given. This guy has been a challenge...
FINALLY he understands we are not going to hurt him. He is in my arms for the first time!!!

Finally facebook up and runnin...whether you love it or hate it ...it has become a necessary tool in business.

Farmer Glenn is struggling from the fall he took many years ago...stubborn as he is, he went up a palm tree when he was by himself, fell and broke his back...the years have taken their toll and he is in constant pain. We will have him evaluated by a pain physician next week... Sharon is doing well but has occasional setbacks...we will overcome and continue to care for the animals each day.

We have had a horrid experience with Moon Valley regarding the new trees on our new land; but, we are giving them a chance to make it right...such a waste of our precious days as we grow older.

It's that time of year again. Time to shear the sheep, llama, and alpacas. We'll be working on them over the next few weeks. Thank you Sereena for helping today.

We have been shut down on Facebook for a couple weeks and then they changed how to post so we shall begin again... Farmer Glenn is doing well. Farmer Sharon is stil trying to figure out what is happening and additional answers should be coming this week. All the animals are well. We will be reaching out for help bathing everyone as soon as Sharon is stronger. We still need to shear the sheep, llama and alpacas.

Will post again soon....

GOOD MORNING ALL....Farmer Glenn is as stubborn as they come and he will have to make the changes in his diet and exercise as he chooses...he is now doing well and he is out feeding as we speak. He saw his cardiologist last week and he is on the right path to recover....his back is an issue and gives him a lot of discomfort, but, again only he can make the changes to not hurt himself....he should not lift anything over 10 lbs and I have advised that he walk slowly with purpose so he does not fall. He is aware how lucky he is that I argued with him to go to the doctor that morning. When he finally got to the hospital....after .he stopped off to eat a chicken sandwich on the way to emergency... they took an ekg and suddenly all hell broke loose with multiple doctors and nurses. Tore off his clothes and immediately got him into the ICU room to save his life. Wonderful caring staff did everything they could to get to him quickly...he now has a lovely stent and is doing well as long as he takes the medication, gets plenty of exercise and eats properly...

Kelly was on vacation last week...she is back home and doing her thing.. We could not get along without our Kelly.

Sharon went to hospital with extremely high blood pressure and serious pain in her neck and upper back, chest and right arm numb... I wont even go into the care and issues, just know that I am home now and doing everything I must to bring down my blood pressure. The have changed my blood pressure meds and added a pain pill for my neck and upper back. Went through multiple tests. I failed the stress test and one other. I will do as doctors have suggested. I can be a difficult patient but trying to do what the doctors have asked. Number one will be to hire the right person to help me get through my days more easily...The Doctor told me if I did not let go of some responsibility that I would be back in hospital in 3 months.

Little Lu is glued to me and even bit at Farmer Glenn when he tried to take her out to go potty...she is very upset that I was gone for several days. Everyone has been wonderful making sure the animals are all cleaned, fed and watered. We must start giving baths because the heat is coming and all animals need to get that winter coat off of them. I still need to get the sheep sheared. Lot to do !!!!

Thank you to all that stepped up to help when we needed you!!!

Farmer Glenn is up and doing well after his heart attack. He will be seeing his cardiologist regularly and trying to correct his diet...However heart issues are rampant within his family. We all have to hope he will do what he needs to do without causing himself further harm...diet is one thing that is important that he correct. You would think that all our veggies and fresh food would be all he eats; but, he is a junk eater and only he can change that part of his day. No more soda, slow down on coffee and he must cut down on fast food...we will try to help his stubborn little self.

Sharon has had a very difficult day and finally became upset raising her blood pressure to extreme highs...She is finally home and will follow up with the cardiologist..😇

I want to thank all those that have stepped up to help Glenn, kelly, Rosa, Kiki and others at THE FARM...we are doing the best we are able at this time...pain and pain drugs and some tests cause a lot of upset in the human body.
Please be patient till we are back to 100%. We hope to hire a helper from a wonderful group of applicants as soon as I am released from the hospital. Thank You all again!!!

How many people step up when they are needed!!! Dozens, stepped up this week as Farmer Glenn and Farmer Sharon have both suffered serious heart issues in the last ten days...Glenn is home and trying not to lift more than 10 lbs. Sharon is still in hospital. Kelly had a well needed vacation already planned and was gone for several days this week..THANK YOU to all those that have spent extra hours caring for the animals and helping in so many ways...Kelly should be home to work the market today and we are not sure when Sharon will be home...volunteers are needed to assist till Sharon and Glenn are up to speed. We have amazing volunteers and friends...we thank everyone for their support and well wishes!!! If you have requested quotes or other info thank you for your patience we will get back to you as soon as possible. Prayers up please for both of us.
