How many ways can we express our gratitude regarding how very much we appreciate our Miss Kelly? Unbelievably talented on a computer, unbelievably loving towards all animals and unbelievably hard working...she gets giddy around the animals... she works so hard in the market and that leaves no time for being around the animals... we are going to have to find a way to get her in touch with the animals more often!

Hope everyone chooses wisely when it comes to Easter animals....PLEASE CHOOSE STUFFED OR CHOCOLATE BUNNIES OR CHICKENS. Live animals are a very bad idea unless you have a good plan for the natural lifespan of all the animals you bring into your home. No one takes roosters and every rabbit must be spayed or neutered to be the best pet and not have accidental breedings. Please choose chocolate or stuffed for holiday cheer...

We have never sold our honey or any of our products on the side of the road...any road. The people that are selling honey on the side of the road are not associated with us in any manner even tho they say it is honey from THE FARM. Just letting everyone know because I continue to get questions asking when we will be back on the road...IT IS NOT OUR HONEY AND NEVER HAS BEEN...thank you.

Phone rings and a concerned ladies voice asks if I can help a family of geese that are in harms way in the middle of the intersection outside our gates. All our helpers run out to gently surround the little family of mom, dad and 7 newly hatched fluffy baby geese. Looks like mom and dad were finished hatching their beautiful brood and were on the hunt for their first bite of food and fresh water. This little family is welcome to take safety with us until their babies are able to fly... we will keep them in a secure space away from our other birds as they settle down after so many helpers herded them out of harms way into the safety of THE FARM.

Sadly, I lost Little Peanut yesterday. Such a very special little goat. She will be missed more than I can express. A fighter for sure, during the last couple of months as she saw the vet every 4 days to control any discomfort while we did everything possible to make her days as pleasant as possible as we fought to save her life. She was loved beyond words!

Today is shearing day...our team visits 2 times a year and this year they only had today on their schedule...the llamas, alpacas, sheep and long haired goats will be cared for...teeth, toes and fleece will be addressed...they are not being hurt...they must be sheared before summer comes...thank you for understanding how we care for those that need our help..

Grandpa Goose has stolen a mama ducks babies...he will care for them and protect them with his life. I love these grandpa geese...mom duck is no longer worried about her little flock of babbies...Grandpa has all 7 and has kept them all in his sight...he loves the babies.

Everyone knows my goat, Little Peanut, is spending her days on a huge pile of towels and quilts in my room with me. She is seeing the vet every 4 days to keep her comfortable through whatever is going on with her health. She is curled up in front of her heater and I look down to make sure she is comfortable...just behind her coming in to get a drink and a little bite of alfalfa...is the cutie pie little bunny I have been trying to catch for the last several weeks. I raised the little bunny and one day she hoped out of my hands when i was cleaning her cage...she has eluded capture ever since. I have a darling little Peanut goat, a very special Little Gray dove, of course Little Lu and finally I see the baby bunny is alive and well. I will capture the bunny soon! The great majority of my home is tile except my room and after 50 years it will be time for new carpet...will probably make it tile with a little throw rug..all is well.

So I sat down to have an amazing dinner that Farmer Glenn spent the day at the grill preparing...he is really a very good griller. After I enjoyed my meal I took a deep breath and leaned back in my chair. Of course Little Gray flew over quickly as she always does in the evening. Coo coo she said...Hi mom, I have been waiting to say hi! I dont like her tail tickling my chin so I gently turn her little self to the side so her tail does not tickle...as I gently turn her sideways there it is...another super cute little egg...how did she lay it so quickly? I think she held on till she was on my chest so she could show me how proud she is...love this little bird!

We wish to thank all those that visit and enjoy what we do here at BARN BUDDIES RESCUE FARM. Our costs to care for, house and give life-long sanctuary to those farm animals that have been neglected and/or abused is constant and heartbreaking. We have not raised our prices in several years even tho dollars spent have risen substantially. Most of us, including myself are volunteers and never have been paid other than the satisfaction of the gratitude in the eyes of those animals we serve. we truly are a non-profit and keep our prices as low as we are able and still pay the ongoing huge bills... "THANK YOU" to all who support our mission and visit often...we appreciate every person that comes through our gates to support the animals.

Our white peacocks are starting to get frisky with the ladies. So beautiful...we have all the whites in one huge habitat for their protection from the coyotes. The males will start to try to impress the ladies with all their handsome new feathers as soon as they come out in the new year...the ladies decide if and when the time is right...the older male is doing his thing and a younger one that has not developed his tail as yet is behind the mature bird thinking he is all that...the youngsters tail has not developed yet...we sure do love our white peacocks.
