Vaulting is an equestrian sport that is the art of dance and gymnastics on the back of a moving horse. With a history that extends back to Roman sports, vaulting requires the teamwork of the vaulter, horse, and lungeur, who controls the horse in a circle on a lunge line. Vaulters may compete as individuals, in pairs, or as a team. It is one of seven equestrian disciplines recognized by the Federat

ion Equestre Internationale (FEI) for international competition and USA Equestrian. Vaulters that compete, including the Golden Gate Vaulting team, are members of the American Vaulting Association (AVA) and the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF).

One of the hardest goodbyes we have had to say. Flash has been a source of comfort and security for so many of us, we were not ready to say goodbye but I don’t think a right time to let him go would have ever come around. He gave his heart to us and never backed down for even a moment, and we know even in his passing he will be with us always watching over and protecting all of us. He has been with us through all the ups and downs of life, being the one constant to keep us grounded. Thank you for everything Flash. Thank you for teaching all of us how to be confident and brave we have all learned so much from you and will continue to keep your legacy alive. May you rest easy Flash we love you endlessly!
