I also wanted to get on here and introduce the local release of my first book, Common Cents: A Crash Course in Money.
This book follows the story of a young boy named Jordan who is just days away from his high-school graduation and is beginning to feel the pressure of what comes next. That is until one of his teachers, Mr Ramirez hands him a small book titled Common Cents. As he begins to read the book he learns lessons on budgeting, taxes, loan repayment, how insurance works, how to build an emergency fund, how to earn interest and basic investment fundamentals. By the end of this story Jordan not only feels more confident but finds peace of mind in his journey as well.
If you know a young adult about to get thrown into the real world, this book is meant to help make that transition just a little easier.
I am a huge advocate for spreading financial education, not because I believe money is the key to happiness, but because having a clear handle of your finances has the ability to create options, peace of mind, and stability — With these in place, happiness is never far behind.
I plan on going live in the near future with a website that the book can be purchased directly through, until then.. I will be selling the book at our shop (Cold Gold Frozen Yogurt) for $20 + tax.
