A stretch of blues skies and warm, sunny weather is moving along all of the flowers and vegetables just beautifully.

Some plants were lost from wind gusts (40 mile an hour bursts a few weeks ago!) that snapped them in half and others are a bit behind in growth due to the late-season cool temps. But, the potatoes pictured here along with flowering zucchini plants, tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers are coming along great. Thankful 😊

As we share our featured vendors in the weeks ahead, we are feeling incredibly grateful for the overwhelming response from people who believe in community, local agriculture, handmade goods and neighbors showing up for one another. This season is already becoming something beautiful.

This spring season in particular is when row covers are worth the work of laying them all out. With unseasonably cold air and ground temperatures, keeping the corn, plants and flowers warm and protected from frost is crucial in preventing crop loss. Row covers allow sunlight, rain and airflow in while keeping the frost out. They increase the air and ground temps inside them for ideal growing conditions. 🌽 🌻

There is a lot of spring work happening, in full swing on the farm. Thousands of plants -pepper, eggplant, zucchini, tomato- are being transplanted from life in the greenhouse into the ground. In this process, plants are hardened off and exposed to natural elements like wind, rain and direct sunlight.
