Made it home from the Honeybee Festival - LaFayette, GA. Thank you Chris Finkbone for everything this weekend. Y’all do an amazing job with this contest.. This was a last minute decision to come on Wednesday afternoon to try and help out cause the contest was short on teams. We had no meat lol so we went to Publix to get some ribs, had some frozen pork in the freezer we usually don’t cook and tried to get chicken thighs in time but no such luck so we decided to try legs for our first time in a Kcbs comp. We tried all new different meats in all 4 categories and it was a blast 😂😂😂We ended up lading a 1st place Springer Mountain Farms Chicken Legs Call.. Thank you to our great friends Rooters-n-Tooters BBQ Paul Keltner and Lynn for all the pointers!!! Go TRO!!!! Ended with a 6th place Ribs, 7th place Pork, and 11th Place Brisket, for a 3rd place overall with a 700.5028! We also entered the steak comp on Friday night to support the high school golf team and Taunya won 1st place steak winning $100 and a Bayou Fryer😝😝😝 We had a blast.
Big congratulations to Rooters-n-Tooters on their GC and Levi D Stoakes and Jessica Hettinger-Stoakes with Colorado BullDawg BBQ on RGC. It was great being neighbors and hanging out. I loved getting to know Harper the past two weeks and Izzy loved her so much!!! Congrats on her 3rd place steak!!! Time for two weeks of much needed time off before we head to Alcoa, TN.

Made it home from the KCBS World Invitational last night around midnight!! It was a rainy weekend for sure!! And we are definitely exhausted after the double plus two lol!! We gave it our all this weekend and turned in some amazing boxes!! Let me tell you all our Springer Mountain Farms chicken crew walked that stage all weekend with some strong chicken finishes!! On Saturday for the Wells cup open we finished with a 12th place chicken, 21st ribs, 6th Jack Daniel’s Cocktail, 9th Dessert which landed us 21st overall out of 117 best teams in the country!!
On Sunday we thought we had a great cook and landed with 9th chicken, 20th pork, 55th ribs, 21st brisket which landed us 14th overall with a

Day one is in the books at the KCBS World Invitational BBQ Championship. We got to walk the coveted stage for our 12th place Springer Mountain Farms Chicken out of 117 best cooks in the country!! Cooked with the best fuel Royal Oak Charcoal and winning Heath Riles BBQ rubs from The Atlanta BBQ Store!! We won our Jack Daniel’s cocktail table for 6th place soooo close to getting that barrel head! Dessert landed 9th place!!
Now let’s get fired up and do it all over again today and hope to hear our name last!!!!
