When pressed to know what my purpose in life is I have spent much time asking GOD what that really is, and to date this is the answer: Ephesians 2;10 For we are His workmanship, Created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before hand, that we should walk in them. This is what my heart understands from this passage as it applies to Buttonwillow Dayspring. If I am God's "workmanship"
then He is a crafter and designer worker, and of course CREATOR! If I am "CREATED" in Christ Jesus for good works THEN I am suited for a work, bent, passionate, and good at it. It brings life to my being- God prepared me, I can and I will walk in them because it is GOOD! The one thing I am best at is "HOMEMAKING" This is what I have wanted to do since I can remember, I always played "house''
I had a play kitchen and iron and ironing board before I started school! I can remember it like it was yesterday. I was sewing and making doll clothes as soon as I could obtain scissors. Both of my grandmothers saw it and encouraged me in it. I made the little loop pot holders when I was still in Tucumcari, NM and ask for an Easy Bake Oven as soon as I saw one. However I had been cooking since I could drag a chair to the kitchen cabinet. I had my very first homemaking teacher encourage me. For what ever reason, she did and I received. I took all the homemaking classes as well as home and family living courses I could. I won a button hole competition! I taught myself to quilt and polished my self at Carol Thomson's elbow. My mother taught me to iron on Daddy's handkerchiefs and our pillowcases. I still love to do laundry! I made my prom dress and actually wore it to the Jr. Year! I taught my self to crochet and learned to embroidery from my Granny Bivins when I was really little. I have had people tell me they are comfortable and at peace in our home. The kids friends always wanted to be at our home. We have "taken in" Children, people, families, animals and strangers and have made them comfortable. This was not done by me but The Spirit in me. and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to love and be loved by those placed in my life. All this to say I LOVE creating products to make homes better! and people comfortable and happy! I believe I am Blessed to be a blessing! to all those I cross paths with. and to those coming after me that I have left the place I called home better for my being in it!
