We are offering these herd building bred heifers as a group of five. Due to calve in September, they are ready to go now. These are low percentage Simmental heifers that are registered with the ASA and we will also provide AgBoost genetic profiles for each heifer. Sired by, and bred to SWEARNGIN Ranch genetics, out of Callaway Cattle Company SimAngus cows. A perfect balance of longevity and performance for tomorrow's cattleman. Message me for the details.

I almost found Bigfoot before I found this heifer and her calf.
All of the cattle were up in the field grazing, except for two. I bought two bred heifers from Swearngin Ranches LLC and those two stick together. One was in the brush with a new calf and the other not far away grazing in a clearing.
Now for me to get the tractor and pull my truck out.

My son Masen bought this heifer from Swearngin in February. Yesterday she had a heifer calf. Masen had had bad luck with heifers not breeding or loosing a calf.
I do my best to encourage my son to work with livestock. I’ll need someone to continue what I started.

Balance
Data is important, especially from customers sharing the abilities of your genetics in their cattle, forage and management. We received this data from Nathan, at Rollins Ranches in Georgia. He used semen on 2 of our herd sires to create more efficiency in their program on forage. He retained 4 bulls to use forward in his herd. Even in Georgia the results were very positive.
He managed 4 young bulls on his forage alone and took weights to measure ADG. The forage was common fescue and annual grass mix pasture. According to UGA cattle on this type pasture will gain on average .8-1.5 pounds per day.
4 bulls average 2.46 pounds per head per day even with one having an injury that slowed him up. The 3 bulls averaged 2.71 lbs. As our AG Boost data shows RFI and ADG are working for our customers. Thanks for sharing Nathan!

Balance
I have had a lot of correspondence in the last few days from my last post about understanding DNA genetic values. In AG Boost data we get to see the actual value of an animal.
The big question is, is there enough data to truly measure accurately? Yes! There are really 2 main DNA testing labs for cattle Igenity and Zoetis. The tests are set to industry standards that all must follow. The difference is how the DNA results are brought forward to the public to use. We have been taught that we must be in a race to compare our animals to everyone else and rank them accordingly. But what does that really tell u about your animal on your farm/ranch? If all environments were the same,(controlled environment) as some operations are today then the data would have more validity. However that simply isn’t reality. We all have different land, challenges, forage... and the list goes on and on.
AG Boost data is simply the individuals real values for 15 of the most important traits. RFI (residual Feed Intake) Stayability, and meat Tenderness aren’t even a part of most association genetic values and they are some of the most important on the ranch. Example
Our herd sire Swearngin Emulation XXP 4128’s genetic values are shown here also. He is extremely rare in his ability to transmit this type of performance yet be at the top for feed efficiency (RFI 3) and Stayability. All while being sired by a 30% linebred sire. These are the the things I need to know moving forward in a breeding program. Not where he ranks in a breed. That has zero value to me as a breeder. I must know longterm true genetic value and how to match it for balance in my herd.

Balance
Our lot 1 cow in our upcoming fall sale is a cow that needs no introduction to our customers. She is Balanced and proven, and she has done it all on forage alone. We aren’t farmers, we put up no silage or feed. We grow grass and grass hay. 2118 is a member of the Merle cow family that was produced in the ceded hills program. I bought the original Merle as a bred heifer in 1999. She was an own daughter of the CH Merle 2031. The dam of CH Stacker. Like we have found in all the old great cowmen the power moves forward consistently no matter where they are.
2118’s son 479 was our high selling bull in 2016, selling to McCormick Angus in Tennessee/Alabama. Last year his sons were our top selling sire group at $5825 average. 2118’s dam produced to 16 with a perfect phenotype and udder. The pictures are of her and sons, daughter and dam. Proven! Balanced! No clipping, feed or photoshop. All cattle photos amd videos are of them in their natural environment.

We made it back last night and turned them out at the house. They are getting the square bale and alfalfa treatment. Swearngin Ranches LLC have developed very grass efficient and productive animals. I’m happy to have some.
Max and I made it to Swearngin Ranches LLC. We hope to pick up some new additions to the herd.
During a recent trade mission to Mexico, Kansas cattlemen Craig Guffey, Lawrence, and Daniel Mushrush, Strong City, along with Dr. Sara McReynolds and Suzanne Ryan-Numrich, KDA, worked to build relationships and expand international marketing opportunities for purebred beef cattle genetics in Mexico. The team visited Angus, Charolais, and Hereford operations in Tepatitlán and Aguascalientes, Mexico. During their visit to Aguascalientes, fellow cattleman and Governor of Aguascalientes, Martín Orozco hosted the trade team and was presented with a set of Ranchland Trust of Kansas notecards depicting Kansas ranchlands. This trade mission was made possible through KDA’s membership in U.S. Livestock Genetics Export, Inc utilizing USDA MAP funding. Swearngin Ranches LLC Mushrush Red Angus Ranchland Trust of Kansas
We are extremely excited about partnering with Swearngin Angus on their Lot 1 bull Swearngin Rito 7258 from their 2020 sale! Thanks Craig Guffey and team!

Swearngin Angus & CG Cattle
