In celebration of the FIFA World Cup and hosting Algeria right here in Lawrence, KS, we’ve decided to create a limited edition blend to share with you all! We handpicked 3 African beans to represent and honor the Algerian team.
We’re adding a little twist to this blend, offering it as a “black and tan” which is a blend of both dark and light roasted beans. We believe this method showcases each bean at their best, and also creates a beautifully balanced cup. You get the bright and fruity acidity from light/medium roasted Ethiopia, and deep chocolatey/nutty notes from a dark roasted Uganda to really round everything out. You’ll be wanting a refill before you finish your first cup!

3 Africans Olé Blend features two light/medium roasted Ethiopias (one natural process and one wash process), and a dark roasted Uganda robusta. Only around for a limited time, you won’t want to miss out on what we’ve already deemed as one of our favorite blends to date!

Our relationship with Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza or Environmental Fortress Farm (FAF) in Brazil dates back to our first days in roasting over 11 years ago (we were exploring FAF before we ever roasted our first bean!). The FAF organization is well-known for championing sustainability in Brazil.

Ivan and Rose dos Santos (along with Ivan’s siblings) began a partnership with FAF in 2008 to change to sustainable, quality driven coffee farming. Fast forward to now, and a whole region has been transformed with neighbors collaborating and following the best possible farming practices.

Ivan and Rose dos Santos manage the Alto Alegre farm in the Sao Paulo/Mogiana region of Brazil, producing high-altitude specialty coffee known for its complex, natural-processed flavors.
This lot we’re featuring is velvety smooth and we’re excited to share it with you!

On April 18th, Repetition Coffee turns into a pop-up comedy club for a night of stand-up featuring a lineup of comics you won’t know until they hit the stage. That’s the whole idea. The location is announced, the comedians are a surprise, and the room fills with people ready to laugh.

These shows pop up in unexpected spaces all over the country, and this time the secret show lands right here in Lawrence.

This is a smooth cup with undertones of baker’s chocolate and bright nuances of cane sugar, cherry, and spice.

Last week Dr. Brian Atkinson, professor of paleobotany at University of Kansas invited our team to the Paleobotany lab for a tour of the extensive collection, and are minds were blown!

We’re talking 300,000 year old botany samples, an extensive Antartica collection, and a hands-on opportunity to make our own prints of fossils collected from what is now the eastern US.

Our team was thrilled to have such a fun and wacky experience and we all noted how grown-ups need more of these kind of mind-tickling interactions just for the fun (and learning) of it all!

Thanks again, for taking the time to share your passion with us! And congrats on tenure - you deserve it!
