is a fun tiki bar-themed spot serving Asian-inspired dishes alongside vibrant cocktails. It’s easy to see why it’s been featured on . We stopped by on a Friday evening for dinner and were pleasantly surprised that there was no wait, even with a lively and nearly full outdoor patio and bar area.
The kitchen was running a bit behind, but our host let us know in advance, which we appreciated. Between the fun company and the nice atmosphere, the wait passed quickly.
To start, we ordered the BBQ spare ribs, vegetable dumplings, and blue crab rangoons. The ribs were flavorful and fall-off-the-bone tender, though slightly dry in places. The vegetable dumplings were delicious, and the blue crab rangoons were a standout. Rather than the traditional crab-filled wontons, these featured cream cheese-filled wonton wrappers folded in half and topped with blue crab, scallions, and aioli - a creative and tasty twist.
For our entrée, we opted for the Feast Mode option and chose the roast duck as our protein. The meal came with vegetable fried rice, lettuce for wraps, bao buns, assorted pickled vegetables, and a variety of sauces. Everything was well prepared and flavorful, making for a fun, interactive dining experience. Our only critique was that the menu description led us to expect the protein to be more of the centerpiece. While the duck was excellent, the portion felt a bit small compared to the generous amount of rice and accompanying sides.
Overall, we really enjoyed our meal at Cocolee. The creative dishes, lively atmosphere, and friendly service made for a great night out, and we’d happily return to explore more of the menu.
