Finally made it to The Junction Restaurant + Provisions, a highly rated spot we’ve been wanting to check out! It’s a trendy little bar and restaurant with an urban vibe that focuses on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients.

We started with the short rib poutine and Brussels sprouts (not pictured) - both were tasty. I had the boar ragu with whipped ricotta, fresh basil, heirloom tomatoes, fennel, greens, and Parmigiano-Reggiano - also really tasty.

Our waiter was also really friendly and attentive, which always makes a dinner out better. Definitely glad we finally made it here!

Had a really nice evening with friends at Northwoods Brewing Co. 🍻 The place is way bigger than we expected, with a tasting room, restaurant, and ice cream shop all in one.

We tried a couple of their beers and shared some wings. I got the clam chowder and shrimp tacos - both were really tasty.

And of course we had to get ice cream, so we finished the night hanging out in their outdoor seating area🍦

Had some leftover birria, so of course I turned it into ramen 🍜✨ A tasty and simple way to stretch leftovers into something new 😋

Stopped by The Red Blazer Restaurant for dinner 🍔🥃

They have a diverse menu, cozy and comfortable seating, and generous portions. My husband went for the Peanut Pub Burger - a seasoned half-pound burger topped with sharp cheddar, bacon, BBQ sauce, and Cajun onion rings. I went with the classic fish and chips. Definitely a solid spot for a meal!

Breakfast sandwich made with leftover ground pork, seasoned with mushroom seasoning, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and parsley, topped with melty cheddar cheese. 🍳🧀 A simple, delicious way to turn what’s already in the fridge into something new instead of letting it go to waste.

Garden to table 🌿💚 Picked a bunch of fresh basil from the garden and turned it into homemade pesto. There’s something so satisfying about turning what you’ve grown into something fresh and delicious 🌱✨

INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup grated Parmesan
1/2 cup pine nuts
2 cups basil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 clove garlic, minced
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
1/4 cup olive oil

INSTRUCTIONS
Combine all ingredients in a small food processor. Blend until smooth.
Use more olive oil for a smoother pesto.

A simple plate of noodles + Umami Hottie chili crisp = instant comfort food 🔥🍜 The crispy garlic, rich umami, and just the right amount of heat make every bite better 😋

Spider maki 🦀🍣 from Eastern Paradise located in The Ridge

We’ve ordered from Eastern Paradise a few times - their food and sushi are always consistent. The spider maki is one of my favorites. They also have hibachi, although we’ve never tried it since we usually get takeout rather than dine in.
