This winter, we hosted two veterinary students, Rimmer Jansma and Bram Rompelberg, from Holland as they interned on our dairies for 3 months. What a blessing it is to make connections across the globe and read below to hear about their experience firsthand!
Hi everyone,
We are Rimmer and Bram, two vet students from Holland! We both worked on Grand View Dairy and Vander Woude Dairy for 3 months, switching dairies halfway through our internship. It was great to see the difference between both dairies and to work with different people. We learned a lot about treating sick cows, breeding, vaccinating, pregnancy checks, and managing a large scale dairy. Besides the practical skills, which are very useful for our future job as a vet, we also learned a lot about the American and Mexican culture. We had so much fun with the family and working on the dairies with the employees! We would love to thank them for our amazing time in California and we’re looking forward to seeing them all again in the future!
