Did you know some dairy farms recycle manure into soft, dry bedding for cows to lie on?

It may sound surprising at first, but it’s a smart example of environmental stewardship, practical sustainability, and farmers finding ways to reuse resources on the farm.

At Stein Farms, the fiber is reused as bedding, nutrients are returned to the soil, and the cows get a comfortable place to rest.

It may not sound glamorous, but it’s practical, efficient, and the cows love it.

Farmer Natasha Sutherland explains how it works. 🐄

🍀🐄 Technology Tuesday | Getting “Green” at Stein Farms 🥬

This St. Patrick’s Day, Stein Farms is celebrating sustainability in a pretty lucky way… with cabbage in the feed! 💚

Those cabbage pieces aren’t just festive — they’re a smart way to reduce food waste by repurposing unsellable veggies into nutritious cow feed.

🚜 With modern feed technology, farmers can precisely balance rations, making sure cows get exactly what they need — even with ingredients like cabbage.

♻️ It’s a simple idea with big impact:
✔️ Less waste
✔️ Efficient feeding
✔️ A more sustainable food system

At Stein Farms, being “green” is more than a holiday — it’s how they farm every day. 🍀🥛
