We have an overstock on feeder pigs! They are weaned and will be castrated this week. They are anywhere from 4-6 weeks old and weigh around 30 lbs each. I have 19 available.

My hogs can be raised outside on pasture with minimal damage to the land. They can be turned out with cows, horses, goats, chickens, and other animals. They root minimally and do really well eating longer grass, weeds, or hay. They have good temperaments and are easy to tame and raise.

They take 8-10 months to grow out completely (from birth). They usually finish out at 250-300 lbs.

They are $1️⃣5️⃣0️⃣each but I will make a deal if you take all of them, as I have a lot right now.

We have 6 piglets up for grabs. $1️⃣5️⃣0️⃣ each. Located just outside of Byron Illinois. These are Idaho Pasture Pigs that were born and raised here. They are from registered stock but they are feeders. They make excellent meat and can be turned out with other livestock without issues.

BACON and eggs! Per Jake - In light of receiving our heavily inflated property tax bill, it is good to know at least the chickens are working hard!

In honor of that friggen increase, we are offering a stimulus sale! 1 lb of bacon and a carton of farm fresh eggs for $10. Or 2/$5 on eggs alone!

We have 3 spots left for Monday for half hogs. These are outside raised, antibiotic and hormone free hogs.

We are having them processed at Harbachs in Freeport. Buyer pays processing, which is usually $1.50-2.00 a lb.

They are $2.75 per pound for halves. If you take a whole, they are $2.50 per pound. I expect these ones to average around 100lbs per half.

Please contact me ASAP as these always go fast. These are my last halves until August/September.

We have 8 hogs going in for processing in April.

My pigs are raised outside and are antibiotic and hormone free. We use locally grown feed and pure whey protein to supplement. They were born and raised here, so I know exactly what they’ve been eating. This is clean pork. These are Idaho pasture pigs; they eat hay and grass as well. The meat is sweet and dark - no white meat here!

We can do halves and wholes on these pigs. I’ve also seen people have success with splitting a half with family or friends. Average hanging weight at Harbachs is around 225-300 lbs. I have 2 going in every Monday in April, so you can pick your date if you’d like.

The processor this time is Harbachs in Freeport. Since he does hanging weight differently than Eickmans, our prices reflect that. For those of us who have bought before - that is why our prices fluctuate between the two processors. Eickmans does a true hanging weight, Harbachs does a live/hanging weight combination.

Anyways - pricing for pigs processed at Harbachs is $2.50 for a whole and $2.75 for a half. Buyer pays processing and it is custom.

Please let me know if you would like a half or a whole and I will put you on my list.

We have 9 of these little cuties available for new homes!

These are my daughter’s silkie chicks. They are purebred, super small, and super cute. They come from friendly, healthy purebred silkie stock. There is no way to s*x them at this age, so they are straight run only.

1️⃣0️⃣each. Local pickup only.

Miss Piggy had pneumonia. So we brought her in the house for the last few days so we could watch her food and water intake more closely. She’s slowly getting better and we thought she might want to stretch her legs on this nice spring day.

The saga continues. If anyone has never told you this before - pig farming is hard work. Especially when you raise them outside.

But sometimes you gotta intervene and take them inside.

Meet Ms Piggy! She developed pneumonia when she was inside my barn with her litter mates. She was weaned and I think the temperature swings got to her. Despite a shot of antibiotics 2 days ago, she wasn’t improving as quickly as I wanted. There was a blizzard coming, so I made the decision to treat her inside. I gave her a different antibiotic last night and she slept a lot. We thought she might not make it through the night but she has prevailed!

This is partly because I do not treat with any antibiotics unless they are sick. But I refuse to pump my animals full of stuff they don’t need. I make these decisions on a case by case basis. I do not use them preventatively like some farms do. But I believe that it should only be used when absolutely necessary.

I’m glad this one is going good so far. I’m optimistic. And for now my kids are loving the “house pig”. ❤️
