Calling 3rd Grade Teachers!

Bring Hank the Cowdog into the classroom—and give your students the chance to become researchers along the way!

This fall, Texas Tech is studying the use of Hank the Cowdog in Student-Directed Research, connecting reading, ranching, plant growth, and hands-on investigation.

Participating classrooms receive:
- FREE classroom set of the Hank the Cowdog Ranch Life Learning Series
- $500 stipend
- 4-H Plant Pals Investigation
- Hands-on data collection
- Limited to 12 districts
- Fall 2026
- Open to 3rd grade students and teachers

The signs are up. Here we go. 💪🏻

We’re moving forward with our Special Use Permit request for The 75 Oaks, and now it’s time for our community to get ready.

🌾 If you believe in family farms
🥕 If you believe in access to local food
🐐 If you believe in connecting people with agriculture
🌳 If you believe places like The 75 Oaks belong in our community as Leander continues to grow

…this is the time to use your voice. 📣

Here are the 3 things we need from you:

1. 📞 Join our call list

If you’d be willing to make one quick, five-minute phone call for us when the time comes, comment below with the number of the topic that feels most natural to you:

1. Education & learning
2. Local food & convenient access
3. Discovering agriculture
4. Food security
5. Family & community connection

It doesn’t need to be profound or polished. We’re looking for something small, specific, and true to your own experience.

Maybe it’s as simple as:

• We started our first garden after coming here.
• My kids learned chickens can lay blue eggs.
• This was the first places my kids really got to experience agriculture.
• We’ve met people here and feel more connected to our community because of it.
