Boudreaux Cellars

Boudreaux Cellars Laissez les bons temps rouler! Let the Good Times Roll! Boudreaux Cellars is located on the Icicle River just outside of Leavenworth, Washington.

Four miles off the power grid (the only winery in Washington State completely self-powered), Rob relies heavily on Nature in many ways to aid his wine making. The 160 barrel cellar is completely underground providing very constant temperatures for the somewhat extended two and three year barrel aging. Above ground thick insulated walls and propane heat when necessary provide good wine making condi

tions for blending, bottling labeling, waxing, and shipping. Gravity provides transport for wines from the press to the barrel. Blending is done in a series of tanks ranging from 225 gallon poly to 1700 gallon French oak. The site is not well-suited for grape farming although Rob is experimenting with pinot noir, lemberger, and reisling in our estate vineyard. The winery is faced with local granite stone blending it into the majestic Stuart Range setting. Just the drive from Leavenworth up Icicle Road along the river to the winery is worth the trip. The spectacular wines are a bonus! The site is well-suited for living deep in the Cascade Mountains in majestic surroundings and the views from the winery tasting room windows are spectacular. The Newsom's log home, located next to the winery, was used extensively as a location by Warner Brothers for the Steven Segal movie, "On Deadly Ground". Boudreaux Cellars is open by appointment only. Please plan ahead. The winery is not accessible to tour buses. Roads are passable year-round except during the worst snowstorms. Call ahead for details if you are interested in bringing a group or van. We want your visit
to be a pleasant adventure.

We hear so many funny comments at our tasting room!!! Yesterday’s classics included “Well, its not blowing my mind” and “Oh, I’ve never had a red Sangiovese”. My patient staff is a wonderful group of smiling educators.

Last Friday we wrapped up our 25th harvest. It was 18*F on the crush pad, but none of us knew it. The steam coming off our hot cart was still 185*F and the mountains were gorgeous.

In the end, our crew looked more like a cross between a hut trip and an ad for commercial fishing gear due to all our Grundens, xtratufs, Hestra gloves and the snowpack.

In classic Boudreaux form, we somehow managed to pull off a 43 ton harvest against all odds and under extraordinary conditions. The wines are already showing the benefits of our collective efforts, and we look forward to sharing them with you in the future.

Big thanks to the friends who joined us, pitched in and kept it fun. Cheers y’all, we did it!🥂

Our winemakers and are very excited to announce of recently awarded our 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Boudreaux’s highest Parker score yet: 97 points.

Big thanks to our vineyard crews who work tirelessly tending the vines that make scores like these possible. Big hugs to our family, friends and staff for helping hands and good humor during harvest.

Lastly, thank you Anthony. We are so honored.

Cheers y’all! 🥂

For the final dog days of summer, we recommend pairing 2016 Reserve Cab with family, friends, a beach bonfire, a fleet of surfboards, a gorgeous sunset, and every dog you’ve got.

There is no time like the present, to celebrate this beautiful life. May you never be too old or too cool, to wear kelp sunglasses at night.
