The lambs are out on pasture and they’re loving it. They've settled right in and have plenty to eat with the grasses and wild plants in our field. They seem to have formed two cliques, one on either side of the field. But maybe they just can’t see each other over the tall grass.

We’re starting small this year with just 25, since we reseeded our main field this spring and want to be sure the new grasses are well-established before turning the flock loose. Th...

Here’s one of our hives last September - it was doing great back then but didn’t make it through the winter. We lost all our hives this year.

Checking out the goats! Every year we bring a buck to visit with the ladies. He stays for a month or two, but in our experience he gets his job done within the first few days that he’s here. Before he arrives, we give the does a checkup and give them extra feed for a month, so they are healthy and ready for pregnancy. Gestation is 5 months, and they'll start to show by about March. All the goats get a dose of selenium and Vitamin E every 3 months. We do this at the solstice and equinoxes, so we can keep track.
