We are excited to let you know we’ll be at the Abingdon Farmer’s Market with a limited supply of our Piedmontese beef this Saturday, February 7, from 10am to noon weather permitting!

We will be fulfilling pre-orders & notifying our customers this week.

We always enjoy catching up with our customers and friends and look forward to seeing you—whether you’re picking up beef or just stopping by for a chat. Your support means so much to us, and we appreciate you being part of our farm community.

Thankfully we had a good hay season way back in the summer of 2025. The photo of a calf enjoying hay during this week’s snowstorm perfectly captures the season—our animals rely on last summer’s hard work, seeing them thrive during winter brings us so much joy.
Even though there is a foot of snow outside and single digit temperatures we are starting to plan for the 2026 hay season, with frost seeding clover next on our agenda.

Thank you,
Cathy and Dave

Naturally Tender & Flavorful Piedmontese Beef

www.rivermountainfarms.com

We’re excited to let you know we’ll be at the Abingdon Farmer’s Market this Saturday, January 3, from 10am to noon. You can find us in Space #12, just to the left of the Yellow Bus.

We always enjoy catching up with our customers and friends, and even though our supply of Naturally Tender & Flavorful Piedmontese Beef is very limited we look forward to seeing you whether you’re picking up beef or just stopping by for a chat.

The recent cold snaps have really nipped our grass back for grazing, which means our cattle have less fresh pasture to enjoy. While that’s a challenge for us, it’s also part of the rhythm of farm life, and it reminds us how closely our products are tied to the land and the seasons. However, it has made for some striking winter scenes around the farm. We were particularly struck by the detail in the millions of tiny, ice crystals formed on the plants and fences one chilly morning. Each crystal looked almost perfect.

Your support means so much to us, and we appreciate you being part of our farm community.

Thank you,
Cathy and Dave
