1. Grass fed is the most economical- grain farming thrives on cheap fuel, which won't last. The government subsidizes grain farming. Your hard earned money goes to support the farming methods that aren't profitable or sustainable. Why do we pay them to do what doesn't pay for itself? Large amounts of grain is used to produce ethanol. Did you know it takes about 1 gallon of ethanol to produce 1 gallon of ethanol?
2. Animal confinement is plagued with disease, which requires more drugs to fight the battle. Pasture farmed livestock are spread out and moved regularly, reducing the amount of disease and animal waste caused pollution. Did you know most poultry purchased in grocery stores is irradiated for fear of the pathogens they may carry due to highly concentrated feeding facilities? Irradiation kills 95% of the vitamin A in chicken before you cook it. Irradiation causes mutagens and carcinogens such as formaldehyde and butane.
3. Grass fed beef and milk contains 250% more Linoleic Acid than grain fed beef and milk. Linoleic Acid helps fight cancer, obesity and diabetes.
4. Meat and eggs from animals grazing pastures have less cholesterol, less fat, more essential Omega-3 fatty acids, have several anti-cancer agents and have more essential vitamins than grain fed meat and eggs. Omega-3 fatty acids promote normal metabolism and have anti-aging effects, help lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol and help prevent rheumatoid arthritis and depression.

Our boys are working hard at the Linn County Fair showing their pigs. Keeping their pens clean and isles swept, feeding, walking, bathing and doing it with smiles.

Doing things that are uncomfortable is building grit and resilience in our young farmers.

They each raised an extra pig and they are for sale after the fair. Reach out if you are interested in supporting them by buying half or a whole hog for your freezer.

Butcher appointment is set for Aug 4th, you don’t have to make any extra arrangements.

It’s fair time! 🇺🇸 🚜

And ✌🏻 TWO of our boys are selling their 4-H pigs at the Linn County Auction on Saturday.

Follow along this week as I share all the things they do from day to day during fair week.

They each have an extra pig to sell, their backups that cannt sell at the auction. So if you’de like to support them and have a freezer full of delicious hand raised pork to meal prep from for the next year, let me know!

Butcher date set for Aug 3rd and we will help you through every step of the way!

Quick question…

If you could open your freezer and already have **pork chops, bacon, sausage, roasts, and ground pork ready to cook anytime… would that make life easier? 🐖

That’s exactly why so many families choose to buy a half hog from our farm each year.

Our April pork harvest is coming up fast, and the pigs go to the butcher April 7th.

Once that date arrives, reservations for this harvest close.

Right now there are just a few half hogs still available.

The April harvest is also one of our customizable butcher dates, so you can choose the cuts your family actually enjoys cooking.

And if a half hog feels like more than you need, we can pair you with another family for a quarter hog.

Many of our customers love knowing their freezer is stocked with humanely raised, farm-grown pork for the whole year.

If you're interested or want details:

👉 Comment “PORK” below

👉 Send me a message

and I’ll help you reserve one before the April harvest fills up.
