Never Give up! Milo was located by NH State Trooper Officer Sandberg and with the help of other motorists they were able to secure this little guy. Milo was transported to the Upper Valley Humane Societyto receive treatment for some cold weather injuries. We are beyond thrilled that he is safe and sound.

Missing puppy - Enfield, NH - Milo went missing from a car crash on 12/29/25 on Route 89, exit 16 in Enfield, NH. Milo is just a puppy at 5 months old. He is a male, pit bull mix, white with spots and friendly. Milo was likely wearing a blue sweater or a harness. His owner is not able to search for him at this time. Please keep your eyes open for this little one and call right away if seen. 855-639-5678

Happy holidays from all of us at Poverty Lane Orchards. Thank you all for a wonderful and abundant harvest season! It’s always bittersweet to close the stand on the final day.

We said our goodbyes to our crew last weekend and they’ve all let us know that they’ve landed and are home safely with their families in Jamaica. If you’re like us and you celebrate holidays around a table with friends and family, take a moment to consider where the food that graces your plate originated. Did you harvest it? Did a friend? Did you get it from a local farm? Did you get it from a grocery store? Did you order it from somewhere else? It’s likely that much of the food on your table was harvested by a migrant worker, whether they’re part of an H2A program or the NFJP or something else - it’s far too easy to forget, because of how indirect the connection can feel. But it’s a direct connection no matter what.

Hopefully you’re enjoying some goods from our orchard this holiday season, and if you are compelled, it is a perfect time to give thanks to the H2A crew that harvested every single apple, pressed every single batch of sweet cider, bottled every single hard cider bottle, the list goes on and on. You can thank them directly by donating to the gofundme set up to help them recover from the devastating hurricane that they are home dealing with as we speak. Every donation counts and we can’t let this disaster fall into the rear view - it is their every day and though Jamaica will never fully come back from this one, we can help to ensure people have a chance to rebuild, receive necessary care and carry on.

🚨 🚨 URGENT: HURRICANE RELIEF FUND! 🚨 🚨

LINK IN BIO

John, Wayne, Sobers, Fitz, W***y and Currie are the Jamaican H2A workers that are truly the backbone of Poverty Lane Orchards. They’re here, watching their loved ones and community members experience some of the worst destruction in their lives. They will be going back home, some next week and some at the end of the month, to towns and cities that don’t look like the towns and cities they left. Recovering from a hurricane of this magnitude is not only a great burden physically, but emotionally and financially it can be devastating.

These guys make this place what it is. In the winter, while they are home in sunny Jamaica, their absence is loud - their return in springtime is greatly anticipated and makes the farm feel like a home again. If you’ve had the privilege to meet any one of these gentleman, you’ve likely been met by grace, kindness and sincerity. We’re the lucky ones.

If you’ve eaten an apple from our farm or had a cup of cider, thank these gentlemen. The connection between you and to them is direct. They make this possible.

Our friends need help. Please, donate. Please, share. Anything helps!

THANK YOU ALL 🍎

This weekend, November 1st & 2nd, is the FINAL WEEKEND FOR PICK-YOUR-OWN!! Just because the leaves no longer remain on most trees here in New England doesn’t mean that trees up here on Poverty Lane Orchards aren’t still holding onto a lot of good fruit!
It will also be the last weekend that we will have baked goods by Piper Brook, sourdough loaves by Rise and Mend, Farnum Hill Cider tastings and Farnum Hill Cider sales.

Starting on Monday, November 3rd, PLEASE make sure to have cash, check or Venmo on hand, because we will have no credit card or debit card or Apple Pay payment options available. Apples, sweet cider, the remaining squash, pumpkins and all honey and maple goods will be available from the hours of 9am until dark. We will remain this way until everything is sold out or we announce an end date!

Again, we will only be accepting cash, check and Venmo!

Don’t wait until we’re out of your favorite apples! Most varieties that we have ready-packed in the stand are going to keep well! Don’t have time to process 50 lbs of apples right now, but worry that you will miss out on the Esopus Spitzenberg or your favorite baking apple, Calville Blanc d’Hiver? No need to fret! Have a root cellar? A dry basement? An unheated mud room? A garage? These are just a few options of where you can store your fruit, for a surprisingly long time, until you have time to make those big pots of your favorite apple sauce, all those delicious dehydrated snacks or to pre-freeze bags for quick pie making!

What a fabulous season it’s been. But, it isn’t over yet. Come by for our last weekend of Pick-Your-Own!!!
