Our Story
Hauck Farms is owned by Edward and Elizabeth Hauck. Ed and Liz purchased the farm from Ed’s father, Don Hauck, in 2009. The farm was originally founded in 1979 by Don Hauck and Ed’s mother, Ginger Flaig.
The farm had been suffering from years of neglect, and proved to be quite the undertaking for Ed and Liz! However, after 9 years of work Hauck Farms is once again a beautiful and well maintained property nestled in an area known as Rough and Ready, PA. It is a working farm, and produces high quality hay. In 2018 Hauck Farms will begin raising pastured steers and will offer this high quality beef direct to consumer, at prices far lower than the grocery store. This will be done on a limited basis, so get your inquires for pre-order in soon!
There is also the Lodge at Hauck Farms. Well furnished and comfortable accommodations sit atop the hill at Hauck Farms offering breathtaking views. Ask us about how to book a weekend at the Farm for some complete relaxation.
Much has been done at Hauck farms since 2009, but there is even more projects on the horizon! The main farm house is currently under renovation with great efforts being made to return it to its original rustic beauty which includes refinishing stone walls hidden for a lifetime, and exposing the original chestnut beams throughout the home. New hardwood floors made from standing dead timber on the farm, will be installed in every room. Barn wood, salvaged from a collapsed barn on the farm, will be utilized throughout the home. A huge new fireplace will be constructed from stone extracted from the farm itself. Also, great work is being done on the historic barn located directly across from the farmhouse. When completed, it will be available for your next event!
