We had a great time connecting and collaborating with our community at NHPR By Degrees Climate Summit. This year’s event focused on PFAS contamination, and we were grateful for the opportunity to speak with attendees about PFAS in private wells and what our company is doing to help deliver water quality solutions to the community.

A recent report highlighted by WMUR-TV found that the tap water of over 60 million Americans contains elevated nitrate levels—linked to potential health risks including certain cancers and other long-term effects.

We received a call from a new customer who had no water in their home. After investigating, we found that a power surge had caused the wire nuts to melt—likely the result of lightning storms the night before.

Due to the age of the system (30+ years), we recommended considering replacement of the well pump, pressure tank, and wiring—especially since the existing wire did not include a proper ground. The customer agreed and plans to move forward with these upgrades in a few months after setting aside the necessary funds.

Lightning-related damage is something we encounter fairly often, and in many cases it requires replacing multiple electrical components. Fortunately, in this situation, the damage was minimal. We advised the customer to keep an eye out for any changes in water pressure, quality, or flow.
