The rain is finally over.
The forecast called for roughly 3 inches over three days. What we actually got was 5 inches in a single afternoon, another 5 inches overnight, and 2 more inches yesterday — 12 inches total, with 10 of those coming down in less than 17 hours.
We were devastated, but so very fortunate at the same time.
Being a farmer means knowing the risks — but when you love what you do, you take them. And unfortunately, all your hard work that goes into the land can easily be undone in a single storm (like the one we just had). Thankfully our farm did not go underwater, but there is still significant damage to work through. Lots of the surrounding area homes & business’s in our county were not as fortunate, and it is truly heartbreaking to see. It could have easily been us. These past 48 hours have been a wild ride, and we are so relieved to finally see the sun.
We wanted to take a moment to tell you how much your support means to us. Your dedication to the farm is what keeps us going, especially in moments like this.
