Last week our Heavenly herd gained a member. Birdie went home and is probably eating all the clover she can find. As some of you who've been here a while may remember nearly 13 years ago when she was born and my daughter scooped her up and claimed her as her own. Well she was there when Birdie took her first breaths and was beside her when she took her last passing peacefully in her arms. The barn doesn't feel quite the same now, and there is a sadness in my daughter having lost a companion of nearly half her life. The price of love is grief. Birdie was good for my daughter, helping build self confidence, responsibility, respect, decision making, goal setting and patience. I am forever grateful Birdie had a hand or rather a hoof in shaping my daughter into the amazing compassionate and beautiful soul she is. Thank you Birdie and rest in peace.

Took advantage of the weather this afternoon before the rain arrive to do a little spring tidy up of a couple of the garden beds along the front of the house today. As always under the watchful eye of the of Miss Lexie. Looking forward to adding some pretty blossoms this spring when the weather warms.

What a difference a day makes!

Tuesday night we got a few inches of snow and while I love the quiet and stillness it brings I prefer it not to be April when it does. However, it was gone the next morning which was welcomed and these beautiful crocus, grape hyacinth and snowdrops took its place.

Really enjoying the signs springs here, longer sunny days, flower starting to bloom and buds starting to swell and the return of the geese. What are you enjoying seeing for signs?
